Wonderful house overlooking the hills of Alentejo, only 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Zambujeira do Mar and around. Full privacy, a small swimming pool to cool off after an afternoon on the beach. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious living room. Patio with dining table. Surrounded by 2 acres of private land.

The small village of Casa Nova da Cruz (20 houses and 2 bars) is only 2 min. away and Sao Teotonio is 7 min. by car. There you find a well assorted supermarket, the Intermarche. Also in the neighbourhood (15 min. by car) you find an Aldi and a Lidl.

A perfect place to combine beach and relaxing around the house. A powerfull heater provides comfort in winter.

And a fireplace gives the place a cozy atmosphere.

But of course the summerevenings outside are the best. Eating on the patio with a view on the darkening hills and the few lights far away. Or in one of the many restaurants in the villages around.

The Alentejo region

Alentejo stretches widely over a huge part of Portugal. The property is located in the South-West part of Alentejo, only 20 km from the border with the Algarve. But the difference between the two regions is enormous. While in Algarve the tourists dominate entirely, in Alentejo you still feel like a friendly intruder. It has always been one of the poorer areas of Portugal and therefore you should not go there to be impressed by ancient architecture or cultural highlights. For those you need to travel a bit up North. This particular part of Alentejo offers the quiet rural life, surrounded by small farms.

Zambujeira do Mar

You will find only a few seaside villages along the coast between Lisbon and the Algarve and among those villages Zambujeira do Mar is one of the most attractive ones. Even though it is very small it has a variety of visitors and is not only family minded. The village itself is nothing special but there is a good choice of restaurants and bars. About an hour from the house you find the mountains of Monchique, very impressive. The Algarve offers shopping possibilities also an hour driving.

“Dreamhouse on the hill”

This is a wonderful house for every season. Last stay was in januari but I also visited this wonderful house twice in the summerseason. The kitchen is brand new with everything you need even if you would be a professional cook. The big nearest supermarket is within 10 minutes drive. 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, one with shower and one with a bath. Great beds. Outside you can find sun and shade every time of the day. The view is wonderful. There is a pool and within 10-15 minutes drive you 'll find the nearest beach. A lot of nice little pitoersques villages are arouynd and there is a big choice of great restaurants. Also from 20 minutes by car you can find a trainstation. Within 2 hours youn could be in Lisbon without a car.

It's a fantastic spot with fantastic views. The house is very very comfortable, with about anything you need in a house. Adorable small swimming pool, right next to the terrace. The road in eastern direction is magic. for an hour ride. Sao Teotonio, though a sleeping village, has it's own charm. And then the cosy Zambujeira, with it's fantastic beaches en ocean views. Watch de sunsets around 7 and 9 in the summer. Go there!

Stayed in this very nice house last summer, the house is absolutely gorgeous both inside and outside with stunning 360 degrees views. Also lots of possibilities to explore a lesser known, but very nice part of Portugal. Especially the nearby beaches were visited by us almost every day. You do need a car for the 10 minute drive from beach to house. Look forward to go again soon. Mark, Amsterdam.

Great cosy indoor atmosphere, great different outdoor relaxing possibilities, great stunning views, great inspiring surroundings and yes, a very small pool... With great effect if you want to cool down! Need I say more? Just go there!
