Location description from owner

The Western Cape region

The Western Cape is the main tourist area of South Africa, and we have dry, hot summers with minimal rainfall.Yzerfontein is a traditional fishing village on the West Coast, and hours drive out of Cape Town. It has a real holiday atmosphere. The town of Darling is a 20 minute drive away, and this has several wine and olive farms. There are also several Game Parks in the area for day trips. The West Coast National Park is also worth a visit.

“When a pearl is a diamond in which tranquillity sparkles”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2013

We treated ourselves to a luxurious week in the Boathouse set apart from the villa, perfect privacy and our own little balcony overlooking the Atlantic with views to Table Mountain, Robben Island and into sensational exploding sunsets. The suite was well-equipped, homey and extremely comfortable. An abundance of sea birdlife awakened the photographer within. Staff were discreet but great in welcoming us and pointing out the best restaurants (Rooi Granaat a firm favourite – taste the Malay curry or oxtail and you’ll understand), activities (e.g. Darling wine route, fish market, a nearby safari game park, the Khwa Ttu San cultural experience down the road – if you go, try the traditional Bobotie)…and the most fantastic linefish and lobster barbecue arranged by staff and enjoyed by guests beside the infinity pool. A recommendation for breakfast is the nearby Whale Tale Café which is superb, the cakes just like gran used to make. Pearl Bay Beach House is a little paradise; less than an hour by road from Cape Town, quiet, secluded and safe. Leaving was hard however, we’ll be back as soon as schedules permit.

Thanks so much, we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back!

“Romantic, tranquil getaway”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2013

My husband and I took some time off and spent 3 fabulous days at Pearl Bay. It was relaxing, romantic and exactly what we were hoping for. The service we received from Peter and Tinashe were AMAZING. They also advised us on restaurants and things to do in the area. There is no TV in the room so we spent lots of time reading and when my husband wanted to watch a rugby match the Saturday afternoon, Peter sent us to the Yzerfontein Recreational Club - what a treat! It was a true West Coast experience and highly recommended - expect to stay longer than planned... Bottom line, we've already booked for next year!

“A little piece of heaven”

Not too far from Cape Town, this gorgeous house has everything you need for a relaxing day or weekend away. Pool was perfect and the view is incredible. amazingly friendly staff.

“As good as it gets!”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2013

Dear Denise, Peter and Tinashe Many thanks for a splendid weekend away. The pictures don't actually do the Beach House justice as the peace, charm and tranquility is not possible to record! Definite rejuvenation therapy for our tired and stressed out bodies. The early morning beach walks, invigorating sea foam scrubs and late outdoor entertaining was most memorable.Special thanks to Peter and Tinashe for going out of their way to assist with anything we needed at any time of the day, was the small things that count! We can't wait to return with our friends , closer to the beach we could not have been and I can still hear slight echoes of crashing waves taking me back to paradise all over again!
