Location description from owner

The Brittany region

Cotes d'Armor has a wonderful mixture of countryside and coast. There are plenty of quiet lanes for walking and cycling and in particular the Grande Randonne 34 all the way around the coast with spectacular views. There are also some attractive towns such as Dinan, one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe and only 15 minutes drive from Les Piafs. Rennes the capital of Brittany is about 40 minutes away and well worth a visit to the food market on a Saturday morning. This market is the second largest in Europe. A good day out would be a market visit in the morning, followed by lunch of traditional Galettes (buckwheat pancakes) and crepes all with the local cider and then a tour of the town in the afternoon to see some of the beautiful architecture. There are many lovely beaches about 30 minutues drive from Les Piafs for all the family to enjoy. They range from long wide sweeping golden sands to pretty little coves with rocks to climb and pools to explore. You can also participate in a variety of water sports at many of the beaches. Buckets and spades await!

Yvignac-la-Tour

A ten minute walk from Les Piafs takes you to the village of Yvignac La Tour where there is a boulangerie, restaurant for the Menu de Jour, a bar and Tabac, post office and visiting butcher and fishmonger. The supermarkets are about 5 miles away in the local Market town of Broons which also has many other shops and restaurants plus a market on Wednesdays for fresh food, clothes, and live chickens!

“Fantastic! Couldn't recommend more highly”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2014

The house is beautiful, well equipped for two families of four to eat, sleep and play in great comfort. John and Margaret were really kind and helpful - their advice about where to go, what to do, and where to park was absolutely invaluable and made life even easier for us. They really couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The area itself is great and we had excellent days out in Dinan, Dinard, St Malo, Pen Guen, Rennes and Jugon les Lacs. Wonderful holiday, greatly enjoyed by all, and we really hope we can return to Les Piafs for another break one day.

“Lovely clean , spacious holiday home”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2014

Our extended family, older couple with offspring in their 20's had a lovely time in this traditional Breton house set in a garden with lawns and flowers in peaceful rural France. We enjoyed the large well equipped kitchen/ dining room where we all cooked a meal each evening. The house is spacious and the beds were comfortable and the house spotless. The younger ones missed wi fi but played traditional games and table tennis with us and we spent time exploring the area in a hired car. A car is necessary as there is no public transport but the pretty local village with bakery is 10 minutes walk away. Bike rides and walks are possible from the property. The pleasant owners live next door and were very helpful.
