In Youlgrave these well dressings are arguably the the best of their kind in Derbyshire.
Youlgrave sits in the White Peak of the Peak District National Park in an area steeped in history stretching from the Neolithic at Arbor Low, through Roman Britain at Navio (Brough), Norman Britain at Peverill Castle Tudor Britain at Haddon Hall to the cradle of the Industrial Revolution in the Derwent Valley at Cromford.

“Immaculate cottage, excellent location - would definitely book again”
A beautiful cottage with everything we needed. It was spotlessly clean and a perfect size for us and our dog Henry. We all enjoyed the fantastic walks around the cottage. Bradford Dale is a beautiful riverside walk on the doorstep. The location is excellent too, nestled between Bakewell and Matlock. The cottage is in the heart of the village of Youlgreave, with 3 local pubs, a butchers, convenience store and bakery. Pie night at The Farmyard Inn is a must - booking is essential and is but a stones throw from the cottage. We would definitely book Apple Tree Cottage again - soon!
“We love this cottage and have just rebooked for a 4th visit.”
The cottage is in a beautiful location, in the heart of the village but in a peaceful off road setting. The interior is home from home with lovely decor and furnishings and has everything needed for a relaxing break.
Nice and peaceful stay .Great for a couple with a dog wanting doorstep walks. Very cosy and warm.Nice village.
“The perfect getaway cottage for two”
Delightfully located with its own off-road parking, a rarity in picturesque Youlgreave. Outside is a sunny patio with a super view. Inside is beautifully speck & span, attractively decorated and complete with all mod cons that work impeccably (including the wifi).
“Apple tree cottage”
The cottage was home from home . With everything as promised cleanliness was 100% as was decor . The garden was a perfect extra . Everything was in walking distance. Would return and recommend to friends
“Perfect cottage in a perfect place”
Great little cottage, right in the thick of things. Opposite a good pub with amenities close by and great walks from your door step - we really couldn't have asked for much more. The view is beautiful, and I really felt like the owner cared about our visit. She checked on us twice, which was really reassuring and she even sent back a ring we'd left by accident FREE OF CHARGE! Incredible value for money - will be going again as soon as I can!
“A beautiful cottage in Youlgreave”
We stayed at this beautiful cottage for a long weekend 7/8/9February for a break and in order to visit family in the Derby area. The cottage is in a lovely location, and equipped to the highest standard. Anyone renting this cottage will find everything they need and having met the owner we are sure she will do her utmost to sort out any problems. We look forward to returning soon. Keith Ann and Rosco
“Like home from home....”
The cottage was in a perfect location for a relaxing New Year break. We parked the car on the day we arrived and didn't get back in it til going home! The standard of furnishings and cleanliness of the property could not be faulted in any way. The views from the windows were stunning - the cottage is tucked away nicely from the main road and you really do feel like you're away from everything! Situated perfectly for walks around the local countryside, with three friendly pubs in the village all providing food - The Farmyard Inn has a great open fire! We would definately come here again!
“A perfect getaway”
This little cottage is set in a great location. It was a perfect for 2 people, it is right in the centre of Youlgreave, with the pub on the doorstep being extremely friendly with lovely food. It is ideal walking country with lovely views and places to explore. We will definitely return.
“Wonderful cottage in an ideal spot.”
Appletree Cottage is a lovely warm and cosy place to stay. It is kitted out with all you need for your stay no matter how short or long it is. It is ideally situated for visiting the local Derbyshire areas and the village itself is a pleasant one. It has all you need for a nice relaxing stay and there are 3 pubs that serve food, one practically on the doorstep and the others within a 5 minute walk so what more could you ask for. This is the first time we have found a cottage that met our needs and will definitely be returning A+++++ :-)
