“Excellent accommodation in idyllic surroundings”

Reviewed 5 May 2020

Stayed at Dovecote barns a couple of times when I was working locally. Sadly I didn't get the chance to explore York but I have been to Selby and that's worth a look, gorgeous market town. The accommodation itself is an absolute treat. The kitchen is spacious and well appointed, with everything you might need to rustle up a quick supper, or if you like something more creative! Brigita the host left a fab welcome pack to get me started and it included home made bread, gorgeous! There is a cozy living area with large tv and log burner which sadly I didn't use, but its a lovely touch and I'm sure would make a winters evening in perfect! The bedroom is decorated beautifully and the bed was really comfortable, the en suite bathroom is spacious and has a lovely wet room style shower. As for the surroundings this place is literally tucked away, its super peaceful, and it was tough dragging myself out of bed for work each day! There is a lovely small private garden, with bistro table and chairs provided, in fact the whole place is so tranquil and private, its wonderful. So to sum up this place is an absolute gem. You will not regret staying and you will be counting the days until you can return!
