The Yorkshire region
York has an incredible cosmopolitan atmosphere. Medieval halls and churches set alongside contemporary bars shops and restaurants.York is reputedly one of the most intriguing cities in England, no other English city offers the layers of
history, beauty and sheer diversity of York. The superbly preserved walled city has witnessed more than 2000 years of vibrant history. It is one of the world's most fascinating cities.
The crowning jewel of York's many attractions is its magnificent gothic cathedral, York Minster. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries, the Minster is a magnificent example of Gothic architecture, and contains more medieval glass than any other church in England. The medieval core of the city is encircled by well-preserved walls (largely 14th century) that contain four of the main fortified gates (called bars).
Among the city's notable museums is the Jorvik Viking Centre, opened in 1984, which
provides a reconstruction of life in York when it was inhabited by the Vikings, as well as a display of numerous artefacts found in archaeological excavations. Equally notable are the National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum, with exhibits about everyday life in Yorkshire.
One of York's newest attractions is the Yorkshire Wheel, based on the design of the
'London Eye'; the wheel is almost as high as York Minster, so the views across the city are excellent.

We have been to York three times now and this apartment and location were the best yet. We travelled by train and the apartment was only a short taxi drive away but could easily walk it. We were welcomed outside the apartment by Chris who is a lovely guy, he sent me a text with the directions and a photo which made finding it very easy as we had a short walk from The Minster where the taxi dropped us. The apartment was fantastic and we were welcomed with wine, fruit, fresh flowers and chocs which we both thought was a lovely thought, Chris had even put some water and milk in the fridge and tea and coffee on the side which allowed us to relax after our long journey. The apartment was of a very high standard and very clean and modern, there was everything we could ask for and views looking at a lovely church which was lit up at night, we could even see the Minster from the bedroom. The location was perfect and just a short walk from the Minster, fantastic shops and eating places. There was also a local Tesco express very close which was great. Most mornings we had a lovely cooked breakfast in the hotel next to the apartment and it was great food and value. Chris was great and very helpful and I would certainly stop here again and recommend it to friends and family. Well done Chris and thank you, we had a fantastic time and the apartment with all its home comforts made it perfect.

"Perfect apartment in an amazing location"
I booked this apartment as a surprise birthday present for my husband and staying here made it extra special. We were greeted at Talbot Court by Chris which was a really nice personal touch. The apartment had everything we needed including wine (very nice too!), chocolates and even milk. The apartment has amazing views across to the Minster. Although we were right in the centre of York, the apartment was so quiet. We would definately stay here again on our next visit to York.
