Lovely property, well maintained. Nice welcome pack. Easy access to York with lots to do for wee ones. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable week.

“Lovely cottage”

Lovely cottage in a great location, very convenient for York centre, we used the park and ride at monks cross shopping centre which is only a 10 minute drive away. Very spacious well equipped cottage. Thank you Suzanne.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. Hope you will return.

“A really great place to stay”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2016

The cottage is lovely and will be excellent when the new bathroom upstairs is done. It is very clean and well appointed there was everything we needed. A nice welcome pack as well and a warm welcome from the owner. With six adults one bathroom was the only downside, but would not hesitate to go back there for another break.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback. The new second bathroom is to be installed next week and we hope you will come back to enjoy a long soak in the new bath.

My wife, four children and I stayed here for a week in October 2016. Upon arrival we were shocked at how stunning and well equipped the cottage was. We loved that the owners had left us a nice welcome pack of eggs fresh coffee and a few other treats. The cottage is situated in a beautiful little village and was in a fantastic location close to York. The owners were very helpful if we had any questions. The kids had a fantastic time playing with the chickens which frequently came to say hello. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing and stunning holiday home close to all the major attractions that Yorkshire has to offer. We will definitely be back in the future.

“Lovely Cottage In Great Countryside Location”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2016

Just realised it's been a year since we were at this beautiful cottage and suddenly went OMG don't think I left a review - apologies. Truly is a great place to stay whilst visiting York and surrounding area. Lots to see and do, P&R only mins drive away (don't try and take car in to city), Ten pin bowling, cinema, Tesco, eating out places etc etc all within easy reach. Great day at York races. Cottage has just about everything you need, well presented & spacious. Only one negative point for larger groups / those with children - would really benefit from another toilet as there is only one. Overall a great place to stay

“Welcoming cottage”

This is a lovely cottage to stay in, spacious and well presented. Great kitchen with all the utensils that you need to enjoy a good stay. Secluded and quiet but near enough to the shops that you need to be.

“Clean, beautiful cottage in the country - you should stay there!”

Large, clean cottage in the country. It was perfect for my family, and situated for day trips to York and surrounding areas. The farm setting was beautiful - especially the horses and the that one sheep trying to be a horse. Definately recommend!

“Excellent location for a holiday abroad.”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2015

The accomodation was well maintained and in very good order. The large kitchen/dining area is very usefull and has plenty of cupboard space and is also weel stocked with plates/bowls and glasware. The bedrooms are of a good size and the beds are comfortable. Entertainment was excellent, with a good selection of TV channels. We've booked this Cottage in order to visit a couple of heritage railways and the city of York, as well as the English east coast.

“Location, location, location!”

Reviewed 14 May 2015

This is a lovely cottage located off the main road in countryside, it is a great distance for day trips in to York by car or bus, also for outlet centres for retail therapy! Well decorated and very comfortable we enjoyed the house and garden to the full and would love to return. Thank you for making our holiday special.

“Secluded but central to York - a beautiful house and location”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

We stayed here for three nights over the Easter weekend. The house was immaculate with everything you could possibly wish for - it is all very well equipped. There were some lovely finishing touches (e.g. Betty's tea and coffee, WiFi and so on). We travelled with 2 teenagers and a nine year old who all thought the house was wonderful (it's design is such that at the end of a long day, you can escape from each other! It is situated on a farm but is quite private with some lovely open space/lawned areas outside. The centre of York is a very short drive away, with frequent buses stopping at the end of the lane. Our only complaint is our fault completely in that we only booked it for three days and could have easily stayed here for longer. Would thoroughly recommend this first-class property.
