The property was refurbished in January 2014.The property is situated in very quiet location on a private development with a secluded riverside garden, just a few minutes walk from all major visitor attractions, shops, restaurants, bars etc.This contemporary City Centre Riverside Townhouse is situated in a quiet location on a private development with a secluded garden overlooking the River Foss Lock and the old City Walls of the Castle area. Couldn’t wish for anything more better well looked after With arriving late we were welcomed with a bottle Prosecco and eggs bread butter and jam in Fridge waiting for us rooms were lovely will deafly go back again

River smead is just in the right location for shopping in York a nice stroll into the centre, the property is well furnished and very clean and is on the side of the river so you can sit out in the evenings with a bevy or two would certainly recommend it to others

We came as a family of 5 for our school half term break, and had a fabulous time. The house was immaculate, tidy, well equipped, light and modern. The welcome pack of some basic provisions (bread, butter, tea, milk) etc was a lovely touch, along with the very welcome bottles of wine! The location of the house is perfect, only a 10 minute walk from the city walls, but tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac so it felt very private and well away from the busy roads. It was nice to have the river at the back of the house, I can imagine it would be lovely to sit in the garden on a summer's evening to enjoy the view. All in all a fantastic stay in a fantastic property. Would highly recommend.

perfect upmarket accommodation with all mod cons. spic and span throughout and a lovely welcoming pack. nice area at the back with the sun (which we had plenty of) from midday. a bit of noise from the pump house (laying floors ) but it will be built soon and, for the people of york a necessity in flood defence. '

The laying of the floors for the new pump station it due to be completed the we commencing 5th June weather permitting as we have been informed from the environment agency. We have been lucky that riversmead has never been affected by the floods in York .

What a wonderful house, bright and spacious, we loved our stay there... just right for our family weekend. Stylish decor with a lovely outside area looking onto the river. All the extra touches from the owner (wine, bread, milk and eggs to name just a few) were ready for us on arrival and were very welcome. This house... and it's owners are very special and we look forward to booking another stay there.

I've just returned from York and have had a fantastic weekend with friends at Riversmead. The house was situated in a quiet location with just a short walk in to York centre. We arrived by train and jumped a taxi to the house which cost only £6. The house itself was modern, exceptionally clean with a lovely outside area which over looks the river. The house felt really homely with the owners leaving wine, cereals and eggs for us which was a really lovely touch. We will definitely be back, it was a great weekend. I can highly recommend Riversmead.

“Everything we wanted!”

My husband and I stayed here with our adult daughter, who is on exchange at U of York. Jayne decorated the place for Christmas for us, even a tree! We had a lovely week here and would definitely stay here again. Everything is clean, well maintained and attractive. The location is only a few minutes walk from the wall of the city and all of the sights. A gem!
