Location description from owner
The Yorkshire region
In York you walk through history: one moment passing Emperor Constantine outside the gothic MInster, the next stepping into an elegant Victorian shop beside a mediaeval hall. The wild Pennine dales, the lovely coastline cliff walks beyond the North York Moors and the soft chalk Wolds painted by David Hockney make great day trips. Castle Howard and Fountains Abbey are famous, but you might prefer to discover less well known gems in Skipton, Richmond, Pontefract, Selby or Castle Bolton? York Races , July's Comedy Fringe, September's Food Festival and year-round musical treats are all in walking distance of the apartment.
New Walk has been a popular place to stroll since the eighteenth century. It's a tree-shaded riverside path following the River Ouse from the city centre to the countryside. Today, it's one of York's favourite places to live, providing a quiet, leafy, traffic-free path to heart of the city with its museums, Minster, ancient walls and quaint streets . Children love the space to play (there are playgrounds and an ice-cream boat!) and It's well connected to several off road cycling routes. You can even fish!

Family of 4 lovely accommodation and location , lovely touches from owner with welcome pack. Easy to find, first visit to York, will be back very soon

“Great Place to Stay”
A beautiful, well appointed, well equpped apartment with friendly, interesting and helpful owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind comments. I must tell you that we have successfully rehung the bedroom door following your friend's advice - so thanks again!
“A wonderful stay!”
We enjoyed a lovely mini break with our 3 small boys in this very comfortable coach house. York was stunning and provided everything we were hoping for and more. The special thing about this coach house is its location, just 10 minutes stroll along an idyllic stretch of river to the centre with all its culture and interest. We could not have asked more from Sue and Roger. Just sad we did not get to meet them in person...this time!
Owner's reply: We're very glad you enjoyed your time in York, and found it easy to make your way along the riverside walk into the city centre. Thanks for going to the trouble of writing these kind notes - and we hope to meet you next time!
My partner and I stayed here with another couple for a weekend as attending a wedding in near pay Naburn. We couldn't have asked for a friendlier welcome to the New Walk Coach House. Upon arrival we were greeted by Sue who talked us through everything and showed us around. The apartment has all you'll need for a stay and is in a ideal location, only a 10 minute walk into York centre along the river. There is no doubt that we will be back again.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind comments and I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay. Sue
“Excellent Location with friendly and accommodating owners”
New Walk Coach house was the perfect location to visit York. Peaceful and quiet, seconds from the River Ouse and only a 10min walk (along the river) for visiting the city center and attractions. The accommodation was ideal for a family of 4 or 5, everything you needed for a base and the apartment was very secure. We would all love to go back in warmer weather!
“Great Location Good for Teenagers and Shopping Very Comfortable”
The arrival arrangements were spot on and the start up food pack was welcome. The parking was not a problem and we always got a space after being out. We went to Flamingo Land which is quite close but the weather wasn't the best. The accommodation was perfect for the two girls with them having their own room on the same floor as the lounge which meant they could stay up longer watching telly. The Internet signal was a bit hit or miss and I feel needs to be better for the youth of today. We ate out most nights except for the last one where we had a carry out from the Chinese at the top of the road which was first class. We had excellent communications from the owner and was well impressed with the flat. If we were to return to York we would definitely try and book the Coach House. If you are in doubt about booking don't be it's definitely a good accommodation of good standard in a good location .
