Ocean Decks is a beautiful south facing chalet with a new decking area where our guests can enjoy al fresco dining on the new table and chairs provided overlooking the green. This chalet has been enjoyed by many guests over the years but now we have taken over its ownership we have updated it to make it amongst the best on the site, along with our other chalets Sandy Shores (next door to Ocean Decks) and Wight Waves (nearby with views across the Downs). Our home from home chalets are among the few chalets here that have their own wifi, and at no extra cost to our guests. Sandown Bay Holiday Centre is situated in a peaceful and sheltered cliff top location. Ocean views and the rolling Downs can be seen from around the site, which is set in the grounds of the historic Yaverland fort. It is a few minutes walk to safe, sandy beaches the nearest of which welcomes your dogs all year round. It is a perfect haven for families and couples to relax and enjoy one of the sunniest locations in the UK, adjacent to Bembridge Down owned by the National Trust, and the coastal walk with spectacular views of Culver Cliff and across Sandown Bay. There are miles of cycle routes and walkers' pathways both on the coast and inland.

This brick-built chalet is fully double glazed, has blinds at all windows and we have provided our guests with comfortable, clean accommodation decorated in coastal style with open plan lounge / diner and kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The lounge has a luxurious corner sofa bed with storage that comfortably sleeps 2 and therefore the chalet can sleep up to 6 people. It has a dining table and 4 chairs, a large flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player, and a useful full length mirror. The newly renovated kitchen has a modern ceramic hob, electric oven, fridge with a freezer compartment, and a range of small appliances and utensils needed for holiday dining.

Bedroom 1 has a brand new double bed with a superior quality mattress, bedside units, double wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 has brand new white bunk beds and a useful tall shelving unit. Anti-allergenic pillows and duvets are provided in both rooms. Good quality bed linen is provided at no extra charge for the bedrooms and beds will be made up ready for your arrival. Guests would need to provide their own bedding if they are using the sofa bed. Towels are not provided.

The modern newly tiled bathroom has brand new electric shower in a corner shower cubicle, hand basin with useful shelving, WC and heated towel rail..

Travel cot and high chair can be provided.

Electricity is charged separately.

There is a grassed area outside the chalet where children can play happily but will need to be supervised at all times. Free parking.

Dogs are welcome at Ocean Decks, either 2 small dogs or 1 larger dog at an additional cost of £20 per dog per stay. Please check terms and conditions with owner prior to booking.

Yaverland

Yaverland - this magnificent bay is characterised by the craggy cliffs and clean, crisp waters. Quieter than the other beaches between Sandown and Shanklin, Yaverland offers safe swimming and fossil hunting by the cliffs. There is the famous Tiger Zoo, and the Dinosaur Isle museum just a short stroll away, plus a sailing club, and a variety of water sports. Yaverland is within the Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Sandown Bay encompasses a wide variety of important marine habitats and coastal features and is designated as part of the South Wight Maritime Special Area of Conservation. It has particular geological interest to the north and the cliffs around the Bay are designated as a Site of importance for Nature Conservation for their plans, mosses and liverworts and interesting geological features.

Sandown Beach is one of the Isle of Wight's finest and most recognised beaches, with miles of soft golden sands crowned by Sandown's pleasure pier. Popular with tourists and surfers, Sandown is a traditional 'bucket and spade' holiday beach with all that you expect from an English family beach.

Sandown's esplanade has traditional seaside cafés, souvenir and beach shops, whilst the pier has amusements galore, including a crazy golf course. The beach has several outlets to hire deckchairs, sun loungers and windbreaks for you to set up camp on the beach and you can get takeaway teas and coffees and eat hot chips with salt and vinegar whilst you sit on the beach.

The main seafront has plenty of parking, and traditional hotels, some with palm-filled gardens and some with decked areas with wonderful view of the beach, and there are some nightclub style bars.

Running parallel behind the beachfront is the High Street that has a selection of arty and tourist style shops along with supermarkets, pubs, cafes, restaurants, cash machines and bank.
