The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is only a short hop on the ferry from the mainland but seems a world apart.
Beautiful countryside, rolling hills and idyllic villages, ideal for a quiet retreat from the rat race, but also full of outdoor activities, beaches and parks for fun packed family holidays. So whatever you are after you're sure to find it here.
The Isle of Wight has a wealth of historical sites, from prehistoric fossil beds to bronze age and Roman sites, through to the many Victorian buildings from when Queen Victoria would spend her holidays here at Osborne House leading to the start of the great boom in tourism
Nowadays the Island plays host to many events and festivals covering interests ranging from music (The Isle of Wight Festival), food (The Garlic Festival), film (The Minghella Film Festival), sailing / yachting (Cowes Week), walking (Walk the Wight), cycling and many more.
Whatever your own particular interests you'll be well catered for.
Sandown is a great base for family holidays with many activities and attractions for all age groups.
Of course there's the long sandy beach, there's Sandown pier with its amusements; The Isle of Wight Zoo and Tiger Island; Dinosaur Isle museum; local family golf; cafes and bars all in walking distance.
A little further afield, but still within 10 minutes driving, there's Robin Hill Adventure park, butterfly world, amazon world zoo, Shanklin Chine, Adgestone vineyard, the garlic farm, the steam railway, arreton barns craft centre and farm shop.

"Well equipped family holiday chalet in an ideal location"
The chalet was a perfect holiday let for our family. The compact but well laid out chalet is modern, comfortable, clean, and is very well equipped: with TV+DVD - plus selection of movies -, good-shower, microwave and a decent oven and fridge. Car parking and access were not a problem, and the location is easy to find just a short distance between Sandown and Brading. For self-catering it was perfect with it only a 5-10 minute drive from two very large supermarkets, and there are plenty of other options in Brading and Sandown themselves. The chalet is ideal for access to Sandown beach or heading further a field on the island.

"Fab little Chalet"
Great Chalet, nice and clean and compact. Our kids loved their new room and home! Great selection of baord games and dvds for those rainy days. Nice peaceful site just a shame the club house has been left to become derelict, but this didnt bother us! Absolutely gorgeous views from the living area.

"Brilliant chalet well worth the money......"
This was the first time we had stayed in a chalet and must say we were very impressed. The layout is nice and compact and decorated to a high standard. The location is brilliant, around 10 minute walk to the beach via the cliff top and there is a huge green across the road whiich is ideal for footie etc......but do watch out for a few pot holes in the grass these should be filled in, one could turn an ankle!! To sum up, if your going to the Isle of Wight and looking for self catering then choose this chalet your not go wrong.

"A beautiful Chalet with sea views"
We have just returned following a weeks stay at Chalet 34. This has to be one of the best chalets we've stayed in-It's a real home from home. The chalet itself has been refurbished to a high standard and was very clean, it even had board games and dvd's for the kids. Although the site in which the chalet is based is run down (beyond the owners control!) this did not cause us any concerns as the views and the green for the children to play on made up for this. if you're looking for a central base in a quiet location this is for you. The owner Steve met us on our first day and was very helpful and friendly and checked us out when we left. If we return to the Isle of Wight we'll definately be returning here and will recommend this chalet with no hesitation to our friends and family in the future.

The accomodation was very of a good standard, comfortable, very well equiped and spick and span. The Chalet is in a very nice position at the end of the site. There is a lovely sandy beach five minutes away along the cliff path. We plan to visit again next year as it is a good base for exporing the island.
