Description from owner

Accommodation comprises a very spacious open plan sitting/kitchen/dining room which is incredibly light due to four windows overlooking the garden. The sitting room has three comfortable sofas. The adjoining dining area has a large pine table seating 8. This then opens onto the fully equipped kitchen with its breakfast bar and stools. Door to utility area, housing the boiler, washing machine and dryer. The downstairs double bedroom has a adjoining shower room. Upstairs there are two very large attractive twin bedrooms, with en suite bathrooms. One twin room has a futon. There is also a small room which has a cot in it, or we can supply a chairbed. A door off the sitting room leads into the secluded garden, laid to lawn with a garden table, benches, (umbrella, sunbeds and BBQ - available in the summer months). Off street parking for two cars.

The Isle of Wight region

The Isle of Wight is a great place to visit. Just over two hours from London by train or driving. The Isle of Wight has hundreds of tourist attractions to suit all ages. The West Wight is ideal for nature loves, artists, walkers with breathtaking views of the downs and the Coast. This is a destination for any time of year. The Wightlink ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth takes 46minutes.


The centre of Yarmouth is only a 12 minutes stroll away with its variety of shops, chemist, post office, several pubs, hotels and restaurants. A walk down the old railway track will lead you through the marsh (fantastic for bird watching) into Yarmouth ( off the rails - is a lovely place to have lunch) and then along the River Yar and finally to Freshwater, where you will find the very popular Red Lion Pub. The Isle of Wight has hundreds of tourist attractions to suit all ages. The West Wight is ideal for nature loves, artists, walkers with breathtaking views of the downs and the Coast. And a most popular walk The Tennyson trail, with spectacular views of the Needles, not to mention several wonderful beaches nearby. The magazine 'What's on?' (in the Isle of Wight) is generally available on the ferry.

“The perfect accomodation for groups or families alike”

We recently stayed at this marvellous property for a family holiday to the Isle of Wight. We were looking for something that could cope with two young children (2 3/4 years and 4 months) and a dog and this property did it in spades. Beautifully furnished for a young family with toys, cot for the infant and single beds for our eldest, the entire property was completely child safe. Child gates were available if needed, but we didn't on this occasion. Baby monitors work around the house, it's a detached property so there is no worry about noise from neighbours etc and enough space for my wife and I not to feel like we were constantly swamped by the children! All the mod-cons in the property, including a fantastic kitchen and Freeview TV as well as decent broadband speeds meaning Sky Go worked perfectly. DVDs and videos (old school!) for the kids as well are available, as well as books, games etc. There are a wealth of local amenities for both adults and children, great restaurants and beach front venues (The Hut in Colwell Bay is particularly good, approx 10 minute drive away and also has a dog friendly beach during the summer very close by). Additional dog walks are all around the property, including one that goes past a fantastic, recently refurbished old train station as a cafe/coffee house. Overall, we loved this place so much we are DEFINITELY coming back next summer, hopefully a little earlier in the season and are also contemplating a trip to the Island without the children to stay here again.

Very nice, clean and spacious cottage. Made feel really welcome with great Hamper, extra bonus was the christmas tree. We stayed in the Cottage over the christmas holiday and it was wonderful. The Storms did not bother us as we were very cosy inside the cottage. It was like home from home, all the kitchen appliances and utensils were supplied, nothing at all missing. The location is ideal as it is only a few minutes away from the ferry. Yarmouth is a really quaint little town, we loved it.

The house was very clean and comfortable; beautifully furnished and with a well-equipped kitchen. Fresh flowers and a welcome pack which included a homemade cake really put one in the mood. It is also an easy walk into Yarmouth via the sea front so you don't have to deal with the its limited parking and zealous traffic wardens! The village has good pubs and places to eat and the countryside in the West Wight is on your door-step and very beautiful.

Had a wonderful week here last October, very lucky with the weather. Delightful welcome pack on arrival. Property spotless and very comfortable. Nice open plan kitchen,diner,lounge. TV a little small but adequate. We were allowed to take our cats with us as they are mature indoor cats and they loved the staircase as we live in a bungalow. Would recommend this property and would stay again.
