Location description from owner

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

The Bodrum Peninsula is one of the most beautiful parts of Turkeys Aegean Coast. There are numerous small fishing villages and resorts around the coast, each with their own individual character. There are many beaches and many offering a range of watersports.

Lycian and Roman ruins can be found throughout the region including attractions such as Ephesus, the largest archaeological site in the world, the temple of Apollo at Didim and the 16th century castle of St Peter built by the crusaders in Bodrum.

There are a range of boat trips that can be taken from Yalikavak or Bodrum that visit many secluded coves, or if you wish to go further a field you can take a daily ferry to the Greek island of Kos from the harbour at Bodrum or Turgutries. Scuba diving, sea fishing, horse-riding, Turkish baths and jeep safaris are just a selection of other activities that can be arranged with one of the local travel agents. Car hire can also be arranged in Yalikavak if you wish to explore the area independently.

Yalikavak

Yalikavak is an authentic Turkish fishing village, with plentiful restaurants which specialize in the locally caught sea food, a variety of shops and a high class international marina a short walk along the shorefront. Yalikavak is both magical and enchanting. The people are friendly and welcoming and the surroundings beautiful and relaxing. Even during the hottest of summer days there is an endless breeze that cools this unique place and as the night draws in you can sit back and be privileged to the most amazing sunsets.
Bodrum is a cosmopolitan resort and a shoppers paradise. It is a bustling town, generally a few degrees hotter than Yalikavak and has a vibrant nightlife with a large number of bars, discos and clubs. On the outskirts of Bodrum there is a water park and in the centre the main Dolmus station is excellent for access to other resorts around the peninsula.

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2015

This is are 5th visit to Yalikavak and Blue Water Bay Apartments and every year does not disappoint. This is are first year staying at E3 and the apartment is extremely well furnished, clean and exactly as in the photos. Everything is provided and you want for nothing. Kathy provides excellent information before you travel and her English representative is on hand if you have any problems. The views are to die for and you certainly miss them when you go home. This does come at a price as there are many steps and steep inclines so not for the faint hearted. The apartment is not in walking distance of Yalikavak but you soon get use to catching the Dolumus and it becomes second nature. The drivers don't speak much English but you manage to communicate enough to get you to where you want to go. In Yalikavak our favorite restaurants are Sofi's, Kosedes, and Panorama at Geris for Breakfast. Alll the Turkish in the town are extremely friendly and welcoming. The postives for Yalikavak and the apartment are endless, if you want a relaxing holiday with good restaurants, friendly locals and wonderful views it ticks all the boxes.

“Fantastic apartment in a beautiful location!”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2014

A huge thank you to Kathy for the use of her lovely apartment in Yalikavak and for all her help in organising our trip. As per the photos the views from the balconies are indeed incredible, day and night and provided both sun and shade throughout the day. The pool area is clean and a real suntrap but there are shady areas in the afternoon. We did have a couple of incidences where other guests would use the sunbeds that are provided with the apartment and we had to ask them to move. It seems not all apartment owners provide sunbeds, covers and parasols. The apartment is spacious and clean and has all that one needs for a holiday abroad. Although we ate out most nights (as the Turkish food is so wonderful and good value) we were able to cook meals on the occasions that we stayed in. The nearest supermarkets are in Yalikavak but we would pick up our daily needs on the way home and did a couple of bigger shops at the large supermarket just outside of town. We didn't hire a car and found the dolmus from the top or the bottom of the road to be an excellent service and great value. Taxi's are a bit more expensive than previous guests have stated - now around 23/24 TL. The beaches and beach clubs at Yalikavak are very laid back and drinks and snacks reasonable. A boat trip from the harbour is a must - we went on the Sandima and the home cooked food on board was as good as any we had all holiday! Our favourite restaurant was Sofie's alongside the harbour where the kofte cooked in a clay pot and the garlic prawns are superb! We should also mention Sara, who looks after the apartment. She was brilliant throughout, helping with the transfers from Bodrum and always on the end of the phone if there was a problem or we weren't sure how something worked. All in all a super holiday and we would definitely recommend both the apartment and the area to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with guaranteed sunshine. We will most certainly be back! Fabulous penthouse apartment with an infinity pool which overlooks the beautiful coast and bay of Yalikavak.

“Fabulous!”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2014

Such a beautiful apartment with the most incredible view that you could ever wish for! It really is so stunning you have to see it to believe it! Located up on the cliff top with an air of serentiy surrounding, it automically eases you into the holiday spirit. Perfect for a calm and relaxing get away! There is a really cute little beach nearby that i would recommend and a short stroll down to the water front takes you to some picturesque little fish restuarants which are delightful! And not to mention the impressive new marina nearby! That is really a sight for sore eyes with the most grand yachts you have ever seen! What an amazing holiday, we cant wait to go back already!

“Home from Home but with Better Views”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2014

A very comfortable, well equipped apartment, especially as I like to cook. The views from the balcony are simply stunning and often a distraction from even the most thrilling reading. A steep climb to reach the apartment, but I would reccommend taking a slow walk down, or up, to catch a dolmus into town and getting a taxi back, as the taxis are very reasonably priced. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

“stunning views to relax with a glass of wine”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2013

this villa is well worth a visit it is excactly as described breathtaking! there is a big hill but you do get used to it, best walking down it and getting the dolmus into town, then on way back get dolmus to top then you only have a few stairs to come down. inside villa provides everything you can think of, also everyone is so friendly we will certainly be going back.

“Fantastic apartment with stunning views and infinity pool”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2012

This apartment exceeded our expectations. Very homely with a great well equipped kitchen and an amazing balcony with stunning views over the bay towards Yalikavak. The apartment is up a steep hill and is about an hours walk from the main centre of Yalikavak so you will need a car, however, the views that it offers, the well appointed clean and modern apartment and great infinity pool make up for the slight inconvenience of not being within walking distance of amenities. Yalikavak itself it a really pretty fishing town with some great (and cheap!) restaurants, friendly locals and has a charm that Bodrum lacks. Overall - a great place to stay and thoroughly recommended.

“Apartment with the most stunning & best view in Yalikavak!”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2012

We recently returned from our 2 week holiday in Yalikavak, with my husband and 2 children, aged 13 & 11. This was our second time in the Bluewater Bay apartments, but this apartment was by far the best, furnished to a high standard and feeling like a home from home. The balcony is large with lovely teak furniture with cushions and it has the most amazing views, so waking up to this every morning was a pleasure! The apartment also overlooks the infinity pool which is shared with a few of the other apartments, but there was never too many people and this is where my 2 kids spent most of their holiday. The turkish people in Yalikavak are very friendly and there are plenty of good restaurants to try including Sofia's and Musti's steakhouse. Going further afield, as we had hired a car, we visited many of the towns on the Bodrum peninsular, Turkbuku is a must and is about a 20 mins drive and Bodrum is about 30 mins, but well worth a few visits. We would definitely return to this apartment and to Yalikavak, and we can highly recommend it. The owners were very efficient and a pleasure to deal with. We had a fabulous time!

“fantastic a little piece of paradise”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2012

My husband and I have travelled to Turkey many times and have visited some beautifull places ,Yalikavak however is by far the best . With excellent restaurants, friendly locals and views to die for this is one place we will definately return to as soon as we possibly can. The views from the apartment were exceptional looking out across the bay .It has a fabulous pool area ,much bigger than we expected and the apartment is very spacious too with 2 double bedrooms . We found it incredibly easy to book and communication from the owner was exceptional. A definate thumbs up !

“A perfect late sun get-away”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2011

We wanted a relaxing, get-away-from-it-all, sunshine break out of the school holidays and this was the perfect solution. This is a penthouse apartment which has everything you need to self cater (a real home from home). We shared the amazing infinity pool with only a handful of other guests which made it even more idyllic and very peaceful. The views from the apartment and the pool were breathtaking. if you want to shut yourself away for the week and just chill out, this is the ideal place to book - although it possibly might get a little crowded during the summer holidays. The Turkish people were very friendly, the centre of Yallikavak was lovely to wander round and the harbour and adjoining marina were amazing to take in! We very rarely go back anywhere twice but would definitely consider this wonderful apartment when we need to recharge the batteries......
