Eagle's View is part of a small exclusive complex of seven flats sharing a lovely pool with a sunbathing patio constructed on a rock overlooking the valley below.

The flat was newly built in 2006 and is fitted out to a very high standard with stylish and tasteful furnishings and all the modern appliances that will make your stay comfortable including a washing machine, large flat screen TV and a DVD player. It has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms and an enormous open plan living space incorporating the lounge dining room and kitchen plus a wide balcony wth ample room for al fresco dining and sun lounging. The bedrooms and living room have air-conditioners for the summer months, though because of the high position usually there are cool sea breezes which make the flat very comfortable.

Location description from owner

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

The Turquoise coast has a perfect Mediterranean climate; summer runs from May to October - from June on rain is virtually unheard of. Temperatures range from low 20s C in May to low 30s in high summer. Winters are mild enough for a November or April dip in the sea.

Wild flowers are best in spring, fruits in summer, and superb seafood year round. The coast has numerous attractively vegetated rocky peninsulas with little fishing villages and spectacularly changing views.

Besides the internationally famous small resort city of Bodrum, the ancient port of Halicarnassus where Homer - father of history - was born, many ancient ruined cities, like Myndos near Gümüslük or Cnidos on the remote Datça peninsula where the sundial was invented, dot the lansdcape.

Cruising the beautiful gulfs and bays in traditional wooden sailing gulets, still built by hand in Bodrum and other local ports, is a delight. It's easy to rent a boat from Yalikavak on private charter or with other people allowing you to visit deserted coves, sunbathe or to swim in the idealic waters.

The region is equally suited for those who simply want to chill to those more energetic types who like lots of activities. If its quiet lounging by the pool, having evening barbecues or visiting local beach then you won't be disappointed!

Activities on offer are wonderfully varied and include sea fishing, watersports, sailing, walking, horse riding, Turkish baths, jeep safaris, bird watching and boat trips. If you like sight seeing well the spectacular crusader castle at Bodrum is not to be missed. There's also the possibility of taking one of the daily ferries from Bodrum to the Datça peninsula or Kos & Rhodes in Greece, giving access to two or three destinations an hour's steaming apart in one holiday.

Yalikavak

The sun-drenched Bodrum peninsula is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Turkey with a breath taking coastline and perfect climate. The apartment is located in Yalakavak, a former sponge fishing port on the north of the Bodrum peninsular and is both greener and cooler than Bodrum. In the heat of the summer Bodrum can be stifling whereas Yalikavak has the advanatage of cooling sea breezes.

Yalikavak has recently grown from quaint fishing village into a small town with fine new marina and refurbished windmill and olive press. It has a characterful water front where boat trips are on offer as well as many restaurants offering seafood or turkish specialities. Try the grilled whole sea-bass! Yalikavak is less commercialised than Bodrum and still retains its old world charm.

Recomended Activities

* Explore the three local beaches on contrasting bays -10 to 25 mins walk from the apartment. Or visit the more secluded beaches on the long peninsular nature reserve (10 to 15 mins drive). Serviced beaches are available in Yalikavak or Dodo Beach Club offering sunloungers and waitress service!
* Dine out in a Yalikavak fish restaurant or try the gourmet food at the 4 Reasons Hotel a few minutes from the flat
* Take a sunset walks up Mount Prickles -ideal for nature lovers and culminates in spectacular views of the area
* Take a boat trip to explore hidden coves, swim in the sea or sunbathe. Fish lunch normally included
* Go on a daytrip to Bodrum for shopping and to explore the 16th centrury Crusader Castle of St Peter. Theres's also a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre and the remains of the tomb of King Mausolos (the very first Mausoleum!)
* Get up early to visit the colourful Thursday market in Yalikavak. Vegetables, Turkish delight, spices, brand name watches and clothes are some of the things on offer
* Visit the water sport centre and perhaps rent a banana boat or a sailing catamaran and go out in the local bay. Yalikavak has the best sailing on the Bodrum peninsular
*Visit the large water park on the road to Bodrum-good for kids
