Very Good

“Lovely half term break”

Reviewed 15 Feb 2018

Stayed at Walters Cottage for 2 nights during half term as a base for visiting Nottingham. The owner Debbie, was great with suggestions and the booking process was so easy. Cottage was perfect, everything you need with lovely decor and very cosy. Highly recommend!

Owner's reply: So glad you and the family enjoyed your stay Amanda :-)

“Everything perfect!”

We had a great time at Walters Cottage! It's modern and comfortable while keeping a homely feeling. My sons were perfectly at ease from the beginning, even more so when they were allowed to play with the dogs and have a close look at the hens and the horses. I would gladly come back, and certainly recommend it to everyone!

“Very comfortable with warm and friendly owners”

Very clean and well finished barn conversion, located adjacent to the owners house. Friendly horses and dogs and little hens next door were a great amusement for my toddler. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Nice local pubs and good location for walks

“Lovely Little Cottage with everything you need; A home away from home.”

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Walters Cottage. Debbi and Hugh were kind and very welcoming. The photos really didn't do the place justice and it was a really nice place to stay. My 7 year old son particularly loved the dogs that belong to the owner and they were kind enough to allow him to come and see the other animals, they had there. We had everything we needed and most evenings cooked and ate dinner their rather than eating out. As for attractions nearby we were spoiled for choice; everything we visited was about on average 30 mins to 45 mins drive away. And if you are into such things I can recommend: Wollaton Hall, The Crich Tramway Village, Nottingham Town centre (plenty to do) and you can take a Tram in from the nearby Park and Ride. The only disappointment of the trip was having to leave at the end of our week there. Thanks for an excellent Holiday! =)

“Perfect place to stay and explore”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2017

Walter's cottage was a perfect place to stay and explore an area so often overlooked. Ideal for Leicester, Derby, Southwell and various NT houses plus local walks and loads of good pubs, including the Plough in Wysall. The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed and Debbi made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Really comfy bed, light and airy throughout and kitchen area with all mod-cons. Lovely to have real coffee provided as well as tea, sugar and milk. Thank you for a great holiday!

A delightful and easily accessible cottage with everything needed to hand. Cry comfortable and warm on cold days. Quiet and undisturbed.

“Cosy, beautifully furnished cottage, and a warm welcome.”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2016

My elderly father and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. The owner, Debbie, made us very welcome. Our anxieties that storage heaters might not suffice in the UK autumn were completely unfounded, and all rooms were very cosy. The property was in an excellent state of repair, with stylish furnishings and a fabulous collection of books. The chickens, dogs and horses were an added attraction.

“Perfect for us.....”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2016

Ideal accommodation for my elderly mother, my brother and myself having easy access all on ground floor ( apart from one step down into end utility / dressing room ). Warm welcome from our host, Debbi, who although on hand to answer any queries, was not intrusive. Cannot praise accommodation too highly . It was spacious, well equipped, exceptionally clean and had everything anyone could possibly need for a short break in the pretty village of Wysall. WiFi was a bit & miss. This didn't really bother us as we were constantly out and about visiting family in the area. You definately need transport if staying here as the nearest mid size supermarket was in East Leake about 2 miles away. Plus it is such a rural area it is so much easier to get about in a car. Would highly recommend this place and hope to visit again soon.

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again soon. Debbi
