“Cosy cottage”
Lovely warm welcoming house, very comfortable, home from home, spotlessly clean. We stayed at Meadowfeild House cottage over the New Year, on arrival the heating was already on,we lit the wood burning stove, kicked off our shoes and totally relaxed. Great dog walking just up the road, Wooler just a short walk away, co-op open until late, and a great Chinese takeaway. Wonderful area to explore the coast, Bamburgh,Seahouses, for fish and chips, breathtaking scenery, great beaches, our dog loved chasing the waves, nearly as much as snuggling up in front of the cosy wood burner,! Steve the owner, great communication, quick response, only a telephone away, thankyou for a truly wonderful New Year getaway.
“Very comfortable”
This is the second time we have stayed at the cottage over the Xmas period and it is perfect as we have family living in wooler. Spacious, very clean, well equipped. Cones highly recommended.
“A lovely spot in an old market town”
Wooler is a small quiet village with all emenities. The cottage was perfect for us to relax and visit tourist spots such as Bamburgh Castle and Sea Houses without having to stay inn the middle of hoards of people fighting for space in the cafes and pubs. We have never slept in as many times for years. The refitted bathroom was a very welcome space in the cottage as well as the lounge and dining room. Sitting outside in the garden was also a treat. Good job Steve !!!!
“Beautiful house, lovely stay”
We stayed at this house in July. 4 adults and 3 children under 4. The accommodation is lovely and the rooms are all big so didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The dining room has a large table so we could all sit and eat together. The living room has a log burner we didn't use it as it was the summer but I'm sure it would have been lovely. There are 3 bedrooms which are really big. Two doubles and a twin. We didn't use them but noticed there was a travel cot available. The garden and summer house was great for the kids. There is a downstairs toilet which is good when you have kids. There was a full sized freezer and a washing machine at the house. The house is less than a 5 minute walk into Wooler which has a coop and a pub. There is also a tourist information office 5 minutes from the house. Whilst on our break we visited Bamburgh, Alnwick and seahouses which were not too far away. The owner Steve was very responsive to any questions I asked prior to visiting and when at the house. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks
“Comfortable family accommodation; perfect for a short stay.”
The cottage was very handy for Wooler Common and walks around the Cheviot Hills. The accommodation was comfortable, TVs in the bedrooms were a big hit with the kids, and the lovely wood burning stove was a big hit with the grown ups. Could possibly do with a new cooker and the kitchen tap was hard to turn off. Minor quibbles in an otherwise lovely property.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback it is important to us to keep up standards a the the points you have raised have been immediately resolved
“Has some positives, but could be better”
Well situated near centre of Wooler, which is a great base for coast and castles, and has some good shops and eating places. Quite spacious, with a nice bathroom and three comfortable bedrooms upstairs. Extra loo downstairs is basic, but a bonus for a multi generation family group like ours. Back garden is nice, and has a large new summer house - our toddler grandson loved this. On the downside, there was a problem with damp in the kitchen (owner aware and says it's been investigated), kitchen is limited for proper cooking and the appliances and utensils are basic and/or past their best - e.g. fridge door very hard to open. Owner was helpful in providing a cot and high chair at no extra cost.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback the downstairs toilet has been fully refurbished , new fridge installed, damp in kitchen has been rectified and new flooring fitted
