Location description from manager

The England region

The South West has arguably some of the most dramatic scenery in England. Within this, North Devon can boast rugged coastlines, sandy beaches, wide estuaries and a particularly intense clear estuary light, green countryside wooded valleys and open moorlands. Walk the coastal path, cycle ride the Tarka Trail or across the moor, fish in the many rivers or open seas, horse-ride along the beach or across Exmoor, surf, hang-glide, sail, wind-surf, kite-surf or just build your castle in the sand!

So whether you are looking to get away from it all and relax or to get active and explore, there is always something to suit all of the family in North Devon.

Wander around traditional fishing villages or along sandy beaches. Explore unspoilt landscapes and a wealth of attractions. Unwind at a spa or get active and try one of the water-sports in Devon. Many attractions have special offers and free events and there are so many natural playgrounds including Exmoor, Dartmoor, and, on your doorstep, the coast.

Woolacombe

For spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches whatever the season, there's no better place in England than North Devon coast and in particular Woolacombe. The beaches are recognised as possibly some of the finest and cleanest in Europe - with three miles of soft golden sand, plenty of rock pools and amazing surf. Just a short walk along the Esplanade towards Mortehoe, lies Barricane Beach (renowned Shell Beach) where there is a catering establishment tucked under the cliffs. During the summer months serving fabulous food, drinks and ice creams

The area surrounding Woolacombe is the perfect place for the outdoor adventurer with Baggy Point & Morte Points close by offering spectacular walks around the cliffs as well as specialised rock climbing. There is tuition available for surfing and numerous other watersports. Within Woolacombe's lively village centre with a range of great pubs, shops and restaurants.

Woolacombe Beach has been voted one of Britain's best and lies between Baggy Point and Morte Point. This 3 mile stretch of golden sand has won premier seaside beach awards for it's cleanliness, water quality and facilities. This is one of the most popular beaches in the South West for surfers, and there is also windsurfing, sailing and canoeing.

The beach has toilets with facilities for disabled visitors, and disabled access to the beach. There is deckchair hire, surfboard hire, first-aid, lifeguards, and a lost child centre. The beach has a dog restricted area, pay car parking and there are nearby shops and cafes/restaurants.

Golf can be enjoyed at Saunton where there are 2 championship courses with further courses at Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Barnstaple.

“fantastic location and breath taking views”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

The house had a very homely feel and it was well equipped. It was very clean and fresh. Suitable for family and friends. Beautiful garden with breath taking views. We are visiting Woolacombe every year but that was the first time when we had fantastic time thanks to the accomodation. It is affordable for everyone and it is worth every cent. We had fantastic time. We will be back fo sure. Thank you for everything!!!
