The England region

The New Forest is England's smallest National Park situated on the south coast of England covering 220 square miles, between Southampton and Bournemouth. Protected since William the Conqueror discovered the deer filled heathland, pretty glades and wild wood over 900 years ago. A place to enjoy a break from the frantic pace of life, where the ponies, donkeys and cattle still roam free. A haven for the cyclist, walker and horse rider. There are award winning gardens, museums and historic houses plus a coastline renowned for it's sailing. Picturesque villages provide cosy tea shops and there is a wide range of choice for eating and drinking from traditional English pubs to sumptuous evening meals in award winning restaurants.

South East England

As well as the Forest on the doorstep, with its wealth of attractions, the historic Portsmouth Dockyards, Winchester, Salisbury, Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight are all within easy reach for day visits. Southampton, with its theatre and shopping and leisure complex is only 6 miles away.
For car free eating and drinking there is a village pub and two hotels with restaurants- one with a michelin star and one with an AA rosette within walking distance.

“All you could need”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2016

The Annexe had everything we needed including milk, tea coffee and biscuits on arrival. The garden was very private and the weather was fantastic. A very short walk up the road enabled us to catch the open top bus tour, where by changing the colour of the bus route in Burley, enabled us to see virtually 3/4 of the New Forest. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your review I am so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday and staying at Purlins. I hope to welcome you again in the future should you wish to have another visit to the beautiful New Forest
