Golden Sands is a quiet holiday camp has lots of grass with a small park for kids to play on and a Pub that opens most evenings and at weekends with entertainment. The Pub does have a Kids room and great entertainment for those that do not have kids including artists at the weekends and the local version of Bingo which is a lot of fun. It is somewhere you can relax, sing a long, have a few drinks, unwind and let yourself go while dancing before retiring to bed or heading into 'Town' to the Pier which stays open several hours later.

So the site is perfect for a quiet getaway for those with younger kids or for older people just wanting some peace. Sadly it does not have a pool, so if you are after a 'Butlin's' camp experience this is not it. Although there is a Leisure Centre a 2 minute drive away which is quite cheap so your children can still have a swim.

The Chalet is literally a 1 minute walk to the Cliff top and a 5 minute walk to get down on the Beach. The Town Centre is about 15 minutes away along the lovely Promenade, a walk I am sure you will enjoy. If not, the Taxi's are cheap and will get you there in less than 5 minutes of them arriving. There is a Tesco Superstore nearby, as well as an Aldi and a vast array of local shops for everything you need.

The Chalet itself sleeps 6, one Double bed in a 'Master' bedroom, a kids room with bunk beds in and a pull out bottom bed (3 beds) and then also the Sofa Bed if need be. The Kitchen is fully equipped, has a Cooker, Microwave, Kettle, Toaster, under counter Fridge with small Freezer and all the Utensils needed.

The Bathroom consists of a Bath, Sink and Toilet, all nicely decorated. The living room is nice and spacious, kitted with Youview TV and a DVD player with a lot of DVD's to get you through the days where the weather might let you down. On them days you may need some heating, so there is a homely Fire and also 3 extra Radiators that once on, keep the place nice and warm.

Withernsea itself has a lovely little market. There are amusements, a lot of local Cafe's, takeaways and Pubs, the beach, a leisure centre, lighthouse visitor attraction, events during the year including festivals, shows and parades, crazy golf and plenty more to be doing. It is great for younger kids.

Withernsea boasts its very own Golf Course, you would need to contact the Golf Club for more details should you be a keen golfer but I hear the Course is very respected. Also as the Chalet is next to the Sea, there are several fishing competitions throughout the year, should you be a fan of Beach fishing. Finally for you cyclists, there are a lot of long, flat country roads which have become very popular due to the local places you can visit whilst enjoying a pleasant bike ride. There is plenty for adults not forgetting the weekend entertainment on site.

It really is a great, peaceful place to be and I am sure you will not be disappointed. The Chalet makes a great base for visiting Withernsea and the other nearby attractions such as the Deep in Hull or the 'Secret Tunnels' in Holmpton for example.

***Although we list this as not for smokers, if you do smoke, we have no problem with people doing that outside where a Bench is provided to sit on - we just ask that no one smokes in the Chalet itself.

House rules

We do not allow groups of younger men (Stag Parties or even Hen Parties) due to the site rules. This is a family site, ideal for families. romantic couples or older people who want peace and relaxation. The only rules we have is that you show the Chalet and those using the site the respect that I am certain they will show you. Any sign of trouble causing and sadly you will be removed as the site owners have a very strict policy when it comes to bad behaviour.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Stuart (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
