“Stunning cottage tucked away in the Cotswolds”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2017

Stayed here with my fiance for a romantic weekend getaway and this cottage went above and beyond our expectations; the photo's do not do it justice! The barn conversion has obviously been done to a very high standard, providing plenty of space inside what looks like a little cottage. The kitchen was well stocked meaning we could rustle up some meals with ease, and a spacious open plan bedroom on the mezzanine had a very comfy bed (just what was needed after a long week at work). The wood burner was bliss and along with the underfloor heating kept the barn very warm, considering the zero degree temperatures outside. Having arrived in the dark, it was quite a treat to open up the curtains the next morning to breathtaking taking views, capped with a dusting of snow! The location was perfect and very peaceful, tucked away in the countryside; it took us less than 10 minutes to get to nearby Burford, and 15 minutes to Bourton-on-the-Water for some lunch. John our host was very helpful and informative before we arrived, providing us with clear directions (so found the cottage very easily), along with providing me with some great local walking routes which were literally on our doorstep! Would highly recommend to others, and will definitely be coming back as a married couple!

“Absolutely beautiful - couldn't ask for a lovelier place to stay in”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2013

I would actually go so far as to say that this is the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. We both fell in love with the barn instantly and thought it is particularly perfect for a romantic weekend away. There are so many nice places to visit in the Cotswolds but our favourite part of the trip was relaxing in the barn, sitting by the log burner with a glass of red wine or going outside to see the horses next door. The barn is perfectly sized as though it is compact it feels a lot larger due to the open walls. It is simply designed yet beautiful. The kitchen is also well set up to cook a meal. It is only an 8 minute drive from the centre of Burford which is also lovely.

“A lovely gem in the middle of the English countryside”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2011

everything about this property was great! beginning with John, the owner, who help and answered all of our questions. the price was remarkable for such a nice converted little, romantic gem. worth every penny. it is a beautiful little house, homey and welcoming and in a good location. we enjoyed a week of exploring the Cotswold and returning every evening to enjoy the great surroundings and romantic atmosphere. the house itself is well equipped and comfortable.
