“Lady of the lake”
The cottage was lovely, very nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The owners of the cottage were brilliant and very accommodating and went above and beyond to please. The views from the cottage were fantastic and it was a short walk into the town centre. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't walk round the lake from the point of the private jetty but the jetty itself was beautiful and had a lovely view. We would stay here again but next time we would bring a car so we can explore the lake a bit more.

“A gorgeous secluded cottage”
My wife and I stayed at this wonderful property whilst undertaking a trip from John o groats to Lands End. What a beautiful place! Gorgeous decorations and such a homely place, we will definitely return!

“Best three days of my life”
Everything was idyllic. My beloved and I enjoyed the best three days of our lives in a cottage where we could have spent the rest of our days. This home is the result of a vision of romance and togetherness. It is a space for truly being with each other and enjoying quality time. The jetty is beautiful, the poetic references are beautiful, as is the decor and features. All amenities are the very best quality. Everything has been clearly considered with attention to detail. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit here.

Myself and my daughter had a fantastic time at the Cottage, sitting in the private jetty was a fantastic way to watch the sunset and enjoy a picnic. The cottage was fully equipped with everything you needed and more and was set in a beautiful private estate with fabulous views of the lake. Christine was so helpful before arrival and on the day we arrived and recommend Brockhole to us which we brilliant for my daughter. Little touches like birthday banners and lights made it special and personal. I would highly recommend as a base to explore Windermere and Bowness. We walked the 2.5 miles from the cottage into Bowness along the lake shore which. Was stunning even in light rain. A fantastic way to end the school holidays.

We booked lady on the lake holiday cottage for our first wedding anniversary. All we can say is fantastic from the warm welcome from Christine to the beautiful cosy clean cottage to stunning views and surroundings. When we return to the lake's we won't stay anywhere else as we've found the best. Thanks a million to Christine for anniversary decor,looking forward to our next stay.

“Very poor- room for improvement”
I’m going to start this review by saying that this was place has got the potential to be magnificent, the decor is beautiful and there were many quirky additions which made the property unique. But let’s itself down in a number of ways. Please read before booking. In your ad- it paint’s a picture of how the lake is not to far away, your going to be in a sercluded spot with your own Pricacy. When me and partner arrived, we noticed we were joint in with 5 other rooms with other people walking past as they pleased. The lake or “jetty” has a path witch is clearly labelled private, so you can’t pass. This means your best off driving 10 min down the road. When we came into the bathroom, we were greeted with around 5 1/4 full bottle’s of shower jell and other bathroom products. Also in the kitchen there was a 1/4 full pint of gone off milk. 1 full bottle of 1 specific shower gel and a full pint of milk may have been productive. As your ad says nothing about breakfast, half pots of cofee and sugar are not good enough. It’s either provide a full jar of cofffee or don’t bother in my opinion. Around the house there are notes everywhere, far to intrusive. With “owners don’t touch on things in the freezer” To top things off, constant messaging was not needed. To summarise my review, me and my partner felt we were rushed in and rushed out and the reality was we could of had something better at a cheaper hotel up the lane, where we could at least been left in peace and had a good breakfast. Very poor. I paid £309.00 for 2 nights. £154.50 per night is not the level of quality we have received.
Owner's reply: With over 70 Reviews at 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and an advert which clearly states that there is a PRIVATE PATH to the PRIVATE JETTY on the shore of Lake Windermere, just a 5 minute stroll from the property, plus a photo showing the PRIVATE SIGN - this is (obviously) there for the general public to observe, and to keep this beautiful spot secluded, peaceful and private. We leave a SELECTION of Shower gels, which guests may/ or may not wish to use. We leave a good SELECTION of Teas, 2 tins of Coffee, plus a Box of Coffee Bags, Hot Chocolate etc. Full packs of Handmade Ginger Biscuits. Full pack of Fruit Pies. Peppermint Chocolates. Plus individual, new bottles of J2O, small cartons of Apple Juice, small bottles of still & sparkling Water, small bottle of sparkling wine to take down to the Private Jetty and watch the sunrise and renew your vows. We feel that your comments were unfounded. Our cleaner called us in to explain why it would take her several hours to clean up after your departure in order to restore our home to its intended beauty. We are pleased that you thought that the: Decor is BEAUTIFUL. Thank you. Today, our guests gave me a magnificent Bouquet of Flowers and a delightful Thank You Card in appreciation of their stay.

Sorry this is late .. I had already wrote but it hasn’t appeared on here for some reason So here goes. my friend and I stayed for two nights 19-21st july 2018. immaculately clean and tidy decorated beautifully throughout, the views are amazing and the walk to the jetty is just picturesque and beautiful..The personal touches for a birthday Surprise were wonderful thankyou, and the most comfiest bed I have ever slept in : My only regret is that we couldn’t have stayed longer ! Five Minute drive from Windermere, perfect Location hopefully we will be visiting again soon thankyou for a wonderful stay !

Must say we absolutely loved staying in this lovely place. Wonderful views, lovely walk through the woods to the water front , where we seen deers along the way. So peaceful and relaxing. The flat had everything you could ever need and more... so homely and beautiful furnishings. What a all round wonderful place. We can't wait to come back. Thank you Chris for all your help . Such a pleasure. ☺

“Fantastic short break”
I planned a short break for my husbands birthday to the Lake District as I had heard so many good reviews about this cottage. When we arrived it warm and inviting it had everything we need and was clean and cosy . Many thanks to Christine for the lovely extras like roses and birthday banner, I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a short romantic break x
