“Beautiful and very homely :)”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2015

Lovely cottage and right in the centre of Windermere, and very close to the Lighthouse, this is a must for great cocktails and coffees. Only down side was the kitchen was a bit grubby, cupboard doors quite dirty and inside too. Plates hadn't been dried properly so my Fish and Chips got wet. Everything else fantastic and would definitely stay again. Wine and Kendal Mint on arrival was great, but only one wine glass in the cottage!!!

“Fabulous Cottage in Perfect Location!”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2015

Thank you for such a lovely break in the lakes! The cottage is spotlessly clean, well-equipped and in a perfect location for access to Windermere and Bowness. You are right in the heart of Windermere with a good range of shops, and parking outside the property; with the provision of a parking permit, makes life easy. The information provided in the property on the local area is very helpful and well-researched. We loved the personal touches in the cottage including DVDs, board games and books. The local area is fabulous with walks, boat rides and plenty to do for the whole family. The booking process was made easy by the very helpful owners who are friendly and approachable. We will definitely be recommending the cottage to our friends and family and wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting the area.

“Pleasant little place”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2015

This is a pleasant little house, decorated and furnished in a "cottagey" style, with lots of ornaments and stencilling....not the place to go if you like uncluttered walls and minimalism ! There was no welcome pack so visitors will need to take their own basic supplies of milk, tea , coffee and handwash etc , although cleaning products were provided. The cottage is very clean,in a quiet side street just off the main road and is very handy for pubs, shops and restaurants. The bedrooms are a decent size, with very comfy beds , and the shower room was spotlessly clean. All in all,a decent holiday let.

“cosy cottage”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2014

We had a lovely, relaxing midweek break at this lovely cosy, clean, well equipped and warm cottage with our irish wolfhound. The cottage is central to the shops, take outs and pubs but is so quiet you would not know it was so close until you step out of the front door. The walks for our dog were excellent and the views amazing. We found parking so easy just outside the front door . Clive the owner was very helpful and the booking was easy to make. Highly recommended. Highly recommended We found parking so easy right outside the front door. Clive the owner was so helpful when we booked the cottage

“Lovely cottage in an outstanding central location”

Reviewed 6 Dec 2012

My wife and I, with our 2 terriers, have just returned from a short mid-week break which - despite some of the weather - we thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage is just a few yards from the shops, tearooms', take-aways and pubs of Windermere village but in a quiet side street with residents only parking outside. A 20 minute walk downhill (bit longer coming back!) sees you at the lakeside at Bowness which is another pleasant, if touristy, village with regular boat access to other parts of the Lake. The cottage is also very central for touring the Lakes by car, eg in 3 afternoons we visited Kendal, Ambleside, Keswick and Grassmere, despite it being dark by 4pm. The cottage itself is very clean, comfortably furnished and equipped with everything you need to self cater. The owners obviously care for the property and provide plenty of info about the area and plenty of things to do in the house by way of games, DVDs etc. though the TV has very limited channels. Very few downsides to the property though I think 4 adults might find the lounge "cosy" if they wanted to spend evenings in together and the outside space is quite small. Although much of the cottage is excellent I think a "very good" rating is fair overall and for us it was certainly good value for money.

“A superb accommodation in an equally superb location”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2012

We can sum up our impression of this property by the title alone. However, it's fair to say that Clive went to the next step to make this a memorable stay. A welcome bottle of wine was there on our arrival and the cottage was immaculately presented. I haven't stayed in a cleaner, or more comfortable place anywhere in the world. The location in central Windermere is perfect, and a minutes walk to the local chippie and town centre. Parking the car was easy and a space was always available outside the cottage front door. I won't presume to tell you more about Windemere and this property. You'll just have to go and appreciate it for yourselves. You won't be disappointed I'm certain.
