Welcome to Comraich Lodge, brought to you by Lake District Lodge Holidays. We’re the region’s only dedicated lodge rental specialist with a local team of passionate and knowledgeable people to help you get the most from your visit to this beautiful part of Britain.

Comraich is a beautifully presented lodge at Limefitt Park in the picturesque Troutbeck Valley. With its unique ‘L-shape’ design, Comraich offers guests a spacious lounge, dining and kitchen area. The lodge enjoys a sought after position on the riverbank with views towards the fells and beyond. There is a delightful outside deck from which you can simply relax and listen to the sound of the beck below. Comraich which means ‘sanctuary’ or ‘haven’ is named after a Comraich, the old Gaelic name for Applecross in the Scottish Highlands. It is a resting place for travellers crossing from Ireland since the 7th Century. With its riverside location and wonderful views, Comraich Lodge is an ideal holiday retreat.

• The following stays can be booked - 3 night weekend breaks Friday to Monday, 4 night midweek breaks Monday to Friday or 7, 14 night stays arriving on either a Friday or Monday. At certain times of the year and usually within one month of arrival, many of our lodges are available for a 2 night weekend break (typically Friday & Saturday). Christmas and New Year – There are set stays at this time. Please click ‘Send Message’ to find out more.

• After booking you will receive a message requesting further information including the names and ages of all guests, postal address and dog breed(s) (If applicable) so that we may complete the booking on our own internal booking system.

• Complimentary WiFi is provided by the park and subject to fair usage guidelines. Quality and reliability of connection will vary based on the number of people using it, prevailing weather conditions and therefore may be limited or slower than you are used to. From our experience, it is only suitable for page browsing and sending emails. WiFi is provided for personal use only and is not intended for high data usage, gaming and/or use for business purposes.

• The lodge is situated on an operational holiday park. Your stay is subject to separate park rules and guests agree to follow these rules during their stay which includes going to reception to register on arrival.

- Furniture includes a fitted mirrored wardrobe and bedside cabinets

- Wall mounted TV

- En suite shower room with shower cubicle, thermostatic shower, toilet and hand basin

Second bedroom:

- Carpeted with twin beds

- Fitted mirrored wardrobe with bedside cabinets

Family bathroom:

- Family bathroom with bath, over bath thermostatic shower, vanity unit with hand basin plus toilet


* Full central heating and double glazing ensuring a comfortable stay all year round

* Laminate flooring throughout except for the carpeted bedrooms

* There is a washer/dryer in the kitchen

* What's included? A fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. All gas and electricity, bed linen and towels. Please bring your own swimming towels if you are planning to use the leisure facilities.

* Accessibility: Comraich is accessed by 4 wooden steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

* Outside Area: The deck is fully enclosed, secure and gated. A slab or base is provided for a BBQ but please bring your own disposable BBQ.

* Leisure Facilities: All stays include FREE use of Choices leisure facilities during your stay (located offsite at Troutbeck Bridge - LA23 1HP).

Getting around

Railway: Windermere train station connects to Kendal where you will find a selection of high street shops and major supermarkets. Bus: The train station is also a hub for local bus services connecting Windermere with Coniston, Grasmere, Keswick and other destinations in Cumbria. Car: The A591 is the main route through the national park connecting the north to south. The road connects Kendal with Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick. Boat: Windermere Lake Cruises offer an idyllic way of getting to various shores. Their main pier is in Bowness-on-Windermere, a 10-minute drive from Limefitt or approximately 25-minute walk from Windermere village.

Interaction with guest

Arrival information will be sent via email 14 days prior to your stay. This will include the full address and directions to the holiday park, where to find the lodge, key box code, contact numbers plus lots of other handy information. If you book within 14 days of arrival, this information will be emailed shortly after booking. A detailed guest information binder is also provided in the lodge.

I stayed with my boyfriend and black lab monty. Perfect location and amazing views. I can’t recommend the mortal man pub and the queens head hotel enough for good food and drink. Looking forward to visiting again next year.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
