Harpe Cottage is situated in the idyllic historic Shakespearian village of Wilmcote Warwickshire and is only 250 meters from the magnificent Tudor Farm House of Mary Arden, the Mother of William Shakespeare, the Local Store and Train Station. At the front of the cottage is a private off road parking space. Once through the front door you will enter the lounge, tastefully furnished with it's heavily beamed ceiling, quality furniture and 32" Panasonic HD TV, flagstone floor and very impressive walk-in inglenook fireplace, incorporating a cast iron wood burning stove for cosy nights in!!

To one side of the lounge you have a small dining room and to the other is the inner hall, leading to the downstairs toilet and utility room. The fully equipped kitchen is fitted with quality units, a fan assisted electric oven, four burner gas hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and small breakfast bar with stools. Finally the original Elm staircase leads you to the spacious bedroom with its wealth of exposed ceiling timbers and brickwork, built-in wardrobe, 24" Panasonic TV, King size bed and en-suite shower room fitted with quality sanitary ware.

“Perfect holiday rental”

Harpe Cottage was incredibly charming and lovely. The size was perfect for two, and the cottage had everything we needed. It was wonderfully decorated and we loved the wood stove. The crazy old stairs up to the second floor bedroom were a bit hard to negotiate, but they were so charming and showed how old the place was, unlike the super modern and clean kitchen and bathroom, which were wonderful. The back porch was nicely landscaped and a welcome place to sit in the afternoon with a glass of wine. Wilmcote was nicely located for a lot of great walking, including a very nice one we did right from the door.

Lovely cottage, a heart-warming blend of old world charm and 21st century comforts. The welcome basket was a treat, including freshly baked 'real' bread. The cottage is set in a friendly little village with 2 pubs and a well stocked village shop. On our first day we walked to Mary Arden's Farm, which is just around the corner. We returned on our last day, it was so nice and quiet. The 'park&ride' into Stratford is very relaxing. The second loo is a luxury, as is the sunny little garden. Amazing theatre too: As You Like it!

As a forty year veteran of the tourism industry, I can’t remember when I last came across an accommodation establishment that has so far exceeded my expectations. Lee and Craig, who developed Harpe Cottage, have gone the extra mile in every respect. Quality is the foundation stone, even down to multimedia that includes Blu-ray, stereo, CD player, state-of-the-art TV, and internet access. Set in an area that has so much to offer, Wilmcote and Harpe Cottage make the ideal base for a truly authentic English holiday experience.

“Excellent place for a quiet break”

We were married on Oct 2nd last year and after finding this cottage on the internet, decided to spend our honeymoon there. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised-the photos on the internet don't do it justice. It was a marvellous cottage full mod cons-everything you needed was here,even a polishing sponge for your shoes! A nice touch was the welcoming basket full of essentials plus a bottle of wine. We were so inpressed that shortly after returning home, we booked another break there this year to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. An extra bonus this year was the bottle of champagne with glasses plus an anniversary card from Craig and Lee (the owners). They have also recently installed Sky TV so that you can record any programmes whilst out exploring the lovely villages and countryside in the area. Craig and Lee have done a marvellous job in restoring this beautiful cottage and needless to say we will be returning again next year for a third time and we are thoroughly looking forward to it.
