Description

Acanthus Cottage is situated in the centre of the picturesque Shakespeare village of Wilmcote near the village green overlooking the paddock of Mary Arden's house, the home of Shakespeare's mother.
.It provides an oasis of calm away from nearby Stratford which is ,just 3 miles away.
Tucked away from the road it shares a beautiful three quarter acre garden with the adjoining historic Peartree Cottage-a listed building with Shakespeare family connections: It has been rated as Four Stars by independent Visit England.

It can accommodate up to four persons in two bedrooms, each with its own private bath/shower room. The cosy sitting room is furnished in cottage style and has a generous dining area. There is a TV and DVD player with a library of DVDs.
A fully fitted kitchen, with breakfast bar, has the usual appliances of dishwasher, cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave etc.
The whole cottage has no entrance step and is entirely on ground floor level.

The shared extensive garden and grounds have ample furniture, in secluded corners, for relaxing and eating out on sunny days. Within a few yards the village shop can provide newspapers and all ones needs for a snack, a full meal with wine, or a picnic in the garden. Also close by, there are two pub/restaurants that can supply good food to suit most tastes and pockets.
The village is the centre of many country walks, notably the Canal towpath to Stratford, one and a half hours walk-return by train takes five minutes. In addition to the train (which also serves Warwick. Leamington Birmingham) there is a tourist bus service to Stratford attractions.
Visits to Stratford by car are easy. Parking in the town is good, otherwise there is a park-and-ride facility on the Wilmcote side of the town.
The owners have been in the tourist accommodation business at Peartree Cottage for over 20 years and are proud to be welcoming repeat visitors year after year.
