Description

Home Farm Cottage is a newly renovated, two bedroomed, self contained barn conversion adjoining to Home Farm, the 17th Century Farmhouse to Bretby Hall. Situated in the rural hamlet of Bretby, 9 miles south of Derby, we are located in the neighbouring village of Repton, and the world renown Repton School.

We offer luxurious accommodation for 1 to 4 people in a beautiful rural location close to local attractions and excellent pubs & restaurants.

With it's own private entrance, Home Farm Cottage offers unique, self contained two bedroom accommodation with a kitchen/diner and separate sitting room with doors out. The master double bedroom offers a king sized bed and ample hanging storage, whilst the second room provides comfortable single beds.

Throughout the tiled downstairs and upstairs bathroom, all floors are underfloor heated and a plentiful hot water supply ensures total relaxation.

Home Farm Cottage is the perfect location for overnight stop-off's or weekend breaks. Alternatively, Rolls Royce, Toyota, JCB, Bombardier and many other thriving businesses in the Midlands are within an easy commute and we welcome long term business lets.

“Truth in Advertising?”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2018

Had we known that there was no mobile phone reception, none, we definitely would not have chosen Farm Cottage. Sadly, we had no land line either. In their write-up it states 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms. There was only one small bathroom with no bathtub. No way could two couples share the place. It also lacks privacy, since the “cottage” is connected to the owner’s home and the garden and drive are shared. The owner told me after I paid that they had three small children. Luckily, there were no problems. In fairness, this should be mentioned up front in the listing. Also, the cottage is at the junction of two fairly busy roads with lorries. The kitchen is very small. No dishwasher. No washer. Nothing to make fresh coffee in. Good points: It was clean and attractive. Master bedroom was very nice. Final comment: This rental is overpriced by 65 GBP per night.

Owner's reply: We have endless guests at Home Farm Cottage and as you can see we have seventeen 5 star reviews. This seems to be a review where nothing is mentioned during the stay of two and a half weeks and two months later you post a poor review. Agreed you raised the mobile phone signal issue on your first nights stay but we offered you a full refund and offered to help you find alternative accommodation. Your poor signal was with Vodafone. The majority of our guests embrace the rural location, adjoining in the Oxford Dictionary does mean “attached” & the most lorries we have along the narrow lanes is a dustbin lorry on Wednesday mornings & Farm tractors !!! We are pleased to hear our children didn’t disturb you so we are not sure why this was raised. We have had several families of four staying for 2-3 months at a time between house moves and they have been perfectly comfortable. We hope this review does not deter future guests as it seems a little unfounded.

“Home Farm Cottage”

We had a super weekend break at the cottage, thank you so much to Katie for being so helpful with the booking and arrival. The cottage was lovely, in a beautiful rural location, but a very short drive into Burton. It had everything we needed and was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. Thank you again.

“Fantastic place to stay!”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2014

My family stayed at Home Farm Cottage for 5 weeks prior to moving overseas. It was perfect for our needs. The Cottage is immaculate and had enough space for me, my wife and 2 young children. There is plenty of outdoor space to keep the kids entertained and the living space is so comfortable and relaxing it is hard not to fall asleep early in the evenings. Katie and Ben are great hosts, and we would certainly go back if the need arises, or for a short break.

“Beautifully renovated self catering property”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2013

We stayed at the cottage whilst visiting friends in the area and the accommodation provided a very comfortable and secure environment with a gated driveway entrance. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was well equipped for all our needs. We were met by the owners with full instructions and we would definitely recommend this property.

“Delightful Accommodation”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2013

We really enjoyed our short break at Home Farm Cottage, the setting is very peaceful and the accommodation very comfortable, it met all our needs and we had a very restful nights sleep. The owners couldn't have been more helpful, and yet you'd not know they were there, perfect!
