“Beautiful cottage that made for a magical weekend break”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2013

We arrived at the cottage at night and felt at home the second we walked through the door. There was a welcome cake which was much appreciated after our long journey (!) logs to make a fire in the cosy sitting room and more generally the house had a warm and welcoming feel. All the beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. All in all a great stay. I would definitely book Yew Tree Cottage again.

We are delighted to hear you had a good time and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Gerry and Collette

“Cleanest and cosiest cottage I've ever rented.”

What a fabulous cottage, very clean, warm, inviting....lovely gift of chocolates on arrival too which pleased the 5 girls I had with me. The cottage had everything we needed and plenty of crockery which I have often found shortage of in others I've been in. The girls all loved it and although we were plenty in numbers there was still lots of space. We did use the heating and the house warms up very quickly and retains heat so we were very cosy in the evenings. Having 2 bathrooms was great due to 6 sharing and the bedrooms were a good size. As for the beds...I have never slept as well in a rental property as I did at Yew Tree. Fantastic comfy mattresses and good duvets, not something you normally find away from home. All in all a great holiday was had at Yew Tree Cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside and lots to do. Would definitely go again. Thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I'm delighted you loved the cottage and had a good holiday. You left Yew Tree in a beautiful condition and I could hardly believe you had 5 children as company!! I look forward to welcoming you again soon. Many thanks Collette and Gerry

“A perfect cottage in a picturesque setting.”

We had the most wonderful weekend at Yew Tree Cottage during the early May Bank Holiday this year when we surprised our mum for her 60th birthday. On arrival we found it extremely clean and tidy, we could tell instantly that it had been painted throughout. The welcoming goodies were such a lovely touch too and started our perfect weekend off nicely! The cottage was very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, including the fantastic dishwasher which was much needed for the entire weekend as we had hungry mouths to feed and pots to wash! The beds were extremely comfortable and having the two bathrooms was great. Yew Tree Cottage has a very warm, comfortable and homely feel to it, the living room and dining room were both spacious and our two year old nephews loved toddling around them as well as in the private, secure rear garden, which we were lucky enough weather wise to be able to make good use of. The communication of the owners, Gerry & Collette was second to none, from the enquiry to when we arrived back home, they made they whole process smooth and were extremly organised. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Cotswold gem and hope one day to return again as a family.

“Complete cosiness”

Yew Tree cottage was perfect for a weekend with girlfriends! The location is really central to all the attractions in the area - we visited Snowshill Manor and Broadway - but spent most of weekend in the sunshine-bright kitchen, eating and drinking, or cosied up in the warm lounge, gossiping. We had everything we needed - including a complimentary bottle of wine and welcome note from the owners when we arrived. The bedrooms deserve special mention - I had the best night's sleep in ages! Thoroughly lovely property, and I'm hoping I can take the family there later in the year.

Hi Katherine, girls seem to be so good at arranging weekends away to catch up. Imagine how tempting it is to jump in and have a quick sleep before I continue cleaning the rest of the cottage...those beds are so good!! I will have to find something fizzy and none alcoholic for when the whole family come to stay. Thank you for taking the time to add a review. Kindest regards. Gerry and Collette

“FANTASTIC, RESTFUL COTTAGE”

Reviewed 2 May 2013

My partner and I fell in love with the cottage, it had everything that we needed and more. It was a pleasure dealing with the owners and they left the cottage so beautiful, clean and fresh that we will definitely stay there again and will bring our friends and family with us. The village was extremely friendly and the two pubs were so handy for meals out. We would highly recommend this as a peaceful retreat for anyone.

“Kiwi's Experience Yew Tree Cottage”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2012

We had an absolutely wonderful week with extended family at Yew Tree Cottage. The hosts Collette and her daughter were a pleasure to meet and made us feel very welcome during our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and some nibbles. The cottage was very clean and tidy and the beds so comfortable, just like home away from home. Coming from New Zealand visiting and staying in the Cottswolds was such a beautiful, unique and charming experience. We would recommend Yew Tree Cottage the place to stay for the overall Cottswold experience. Once again a big thank you to Collette and family for making our holiday so enjoyable and memorable. We most definately would love to return one day.

“Beautiful Cottage, Beautiful Village. Perfect!”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2012

We booked Yew Tree Cottage as a late availability and were very pleased with it. The cottage is ideal and very well equipped, comfortable and very homely. Willersey is a beautiful village with all that is needed, including two lovely pubs and a shop. We found the cottage to be clean and ready for our arrival with all the basics being provided. The beds were very comfortable with fresh linen and good quality pillows-always a bonus in my book! We would definitely stay here again and would whole-heartedly recommend it to anybody.

“Wonderful cottage in an idyllic location”

Reviewed 26 Apr 2012

I spent a week at Yew Tree Cottage over Easter with my parents and my two children, aged 11 and 6. We all adored this beautiful cottage and certainly intend to return. As well as being very attractive and sparklingly clean, the cottage is child-friendly and extremely well-equipped. There are many thoughtful touches, such a a cupboard full of toys. It is evident that the owners have worked very hard to ensure that guests have everything they need and enjoy a comfortable stay. We only wish the weather had been better so that we could have enjoyed the very pretty and secluded garden. We know the Cotswolds well, but we hadn't stayed in Willersey before. It is an exceptionally picturesque village and the cottage is beautifully situated. The views in all directions are stunning. We particularly enjoyed walking in the surrounding countryside and to the neighbouring villages. The children requested regular trips to the huge (and very scenic) playground in Broadway. Thank you, Collette and Gerry, for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We had a good feeling about your cottage from the start of the booking process. Even at that early stage, you were memorably warm, friendly and welcoming, and we were convinced that Yew Tree Cottage was going to be special. We weren't disappointed!

“Relax or play near Broadway!”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2012

My family has stayed in Yew Tree Cottage on several occasions over the past few years and we have thoroughly enjoyed our holidays there. The owners maintain the property to a high standard and have made this a homely, as well as spacious, country cottage. We have normally been very lucky with the weather and have therefore been able to make the most of the rear garden and conservatory. But the location and road access means that there is always plenty to do in this area, rain or shine. The two small shops, not one but two pub/restaurants and even a garage, make this an ideal village location for visitors. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet retreat or an event filled holiday.
