“So near and yet so far!”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2016

We stayed in Oak Barn. 5 adults and one toddler. Unfortunately we had a week of very wet weather which exacerbated the damp problem within the house. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable however we are told they are due to be replaced at the end of the season. Having bought our shopping for the week and put it in the fridge we discovered the next evening that the fridge did not work sufficiently well to keep anything cold and we had no choice but to throw away about £40 worth of food as it had spoiled. Better outside lighting would be beneficial as you have to park away from the house and walk down an unlit track which was tricky with a toddler and all that comes with them. First impressions of the house were amazing and with a little tlc that initial promise could be achieved. Yvonne is lovely and very welcoming. We would have raised the issues as they arose however our timetable and Yvonne's did not coincide.

Thank you taking the time to leave a review, however, as we were totally unaware of any issues until you handed over a letter as you were leaving we had no chance to rectify any of the perceived problems. It was a shame that you did not contact us immediately especially as our front door is only a few yards away, you had all the contact details in the cottage in case we were not at home and we would have moved you all into Rose Barn straight away.We are sorry that the fridge freezer developed a fault and have ordered a replacement, mattresses are a matter of personal taste but they are renewed on a regular basis. We take on board about the lighting, all the cottages have outside lights that come on automatically but we have now provided each cottage with a torch as well.

“Lovely and relaxing in perfect location with beautiful views.”

Travelled with husband and son for a wedding in the area. Barn in lovely location and very well equipped . Owners seem to have thought of everything including a pair of binoculars to view the spectacular views towards the sea. Very cosy and comfortable. Like home from home! Would definitely visit again without hesitation.
