Location description from owner

The England region

In the last decade Cornwall has emerged as one of the world's iconic destinations. From the dramatic coastline of the north to the sheltered bays in the south, from ancient moorland to soft river estuaries, surfers, walkers, sailing buffs, gastronauts and visitors simply seeking a break from a hectic world have discovered a fascinating, vibrant culture, first class accommodation, food to die for and a naturally thrilling adventure playground.

Widemouth Bay

Bude has been welcoming visitors since Victorian times. On the surface, Bude is a family-orientated seaside resort, but we have some great pubs, restaurants and late night entertainment with live music,Bude Jazz Festival in August attracts many performers and enthusiasts. The sea surges onto the clean sandy beaches towards the rugged coastline and towering cliffs, the sea pool means safe bathing and the numerous rock pools are loved by children and adults alike. Bude also has some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities, with places like Adventure International and many surf schools you can have a great time so come and learn a new sport. Not for you then how about sea or canal fishing or cycling on one of the many tracks It doesn't take long to discover that Bude is possibly more diverse than any other holiday destination in Cornwall, the canal has otters and other wildlife to see,the canal basin leads to the famous sea lock and you can sit in the sun watching the ducks, swans and boats whilst enjoying a drink or plate of local fish before wandering into town for a mooch round the shops.

“Wonderful cottages, lovely setting, friendly owners”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2013

My family and I stayed here for a week in October 2012 and had a fantastic time. The cottages is as lovely as the pictures and the front room with its wooden beams and log fire was brilliant. We've already booked another stay.

“Rose Barn rocks”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2012

We have been coming to Helscott Farm for 7 years and have stayed in each of the 5 converted barns. As our family has grown over the years we need more space and Rose Barn is just perfect. Equipped with everything you need Rose Barn easily absorbs the 5 of us leaving plenty of essential kid and adult space, even two televisions means I don’t have to endure Spongebob.. A sheltered garden is perfect for sundowners as the barbie cranks up to cook the locally caught fish. The area around the cottages is exceptionally safe for the kids to run around without dangers or annoying others. On to John and Yvonne, they make the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble and all with a great sense of humour - there is a reason we go back to the stunning Bude / Widemouth coast each year and more importantly always to Helscott Farm and from now on without fail Rose Barn, enjoy!
