This waterfront cottage is situated on a 50-acre lot, surrounded by a mix of cedars, birch trees and alvar. The property features many walking and hiking trails. as well as kilometers of shoreline you can stroll at sunset. If you step outside the west door of the cottage you step into an alvar- a rare eastern prairie with its own unique plants and flowers. If you step outside the northern door, you have a completely private and unobstructed view of Sydney Bay, a sheltered bay on Georgian Bay. Walk around and enjoy some of the best natural scenery in Ontario. The interior of the cottage is bright and airy. The cottage interior is of an open concept design - living, dining, and kitchen areas form one large room. The living room boasts a cathedral ceiling, a feature which helps keep the cottage cool in summer and warm in the winter. The effect of the ceiling and the large windows is to retain as much daylight as possible for as long as possible. Suspended from the high ceiling is a chandelier that holds real candles. When it is lit it provides light and a peaceful atmosphere for the whole cottage. There is no shortage of counter and cupboard space in the kitchen. There is a new propane gas stove, as well as a propane refrigerator.

The dining room has a large table and enough chairs to sit eight comfortably.

In the living room you will find a pull-out queen-sized futon and a comfortable lazy boy chair. The living area has laminate flooring and a wood -burning stove. Firewood is provided. Each of the two sound proofed, private bedrooms contains a queen-sized futon as well as a night table, dresser, and reading light.

The loft is very roomy, and comfortable. It has a rocking chair and two queen size futons. There is also a child-sized pool table.

To minimize the impact on the environment, but still ensure our guests' comfort, the cottage has an odour-free composting toilet inside. All you need to do is add a little peat moss. Down by the shore you will find a horseshoe pit as well as a firepit where you can roast marshmallows while listening to the waves lap against the shore. If you hike north along the shoreline for about a half-hour you will reach Cape Croker Tent and Trailer Park Restroom, shower and laundry facilities are available here. This park also offers natural trails, beach volleyball and native cultural activities - many artists and craftspeople of the Nawash reserve can be found here. Fresh fish, caught daily, are sold on the reserve at a location a five-minute drive from the cottage. You will also find a convenience store a few kilometers away. Wiarton is a short drive away. There are many little shops in Wiarton featuring locally-handcrafted items. Many studios/shops in the outlying areas specialize in oil painting, woodworking, stained glass & pottery. Wiarton is the home of famous painter Paul Duff. His studio is open for visitors during the summer and is located north on Hwy 6 approximately 8 km away.

Some pieces of original art on the walls of the cottage is for sale when so marked.
