“Magnificent seaside location in a clean comfortable house with wonderful sunset views and comfortable beds.”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2016

My husband, my 93 year old father our two spaniels and myself all enjoyed Sea Sunset Cottage. The town with all its shops and restaurants was just a short walk away and the harbour and fish market was lovely to walk around and had the extra attraction of a small shopping village open at the week-end. We especially enjoyed our meal at Pearsons, also on the sea-front. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed the sea and walks along the beach, also Blean Woods which was just a couple of miles away. Windy Stores was a convenient place to collect some sausage rolls, crusty bread, rolls etc. for lunches. The only fault I could find was the pots and pans were huge and heavy and no microwave dishes to heat food in, otherwise a great holiday home.

Thanks for staying and will look into getting some microwave dishes.

“Wonderful cottage and location”

Just as described, seeing sunsets directly from the lounge French window overlooking Whitstable Bay. Such a peaceful and relaxing place. So many shops and places to eat two minutes away and fish market and harbour a couple of minutes further that can be reached from the beach walk or street. Never used the car all holiday with everything so close by and buses not far away. Cottage very clean and comfortable. My wife and grown up daughter have health problems and the worry is when going away are the beds. No worries here - The beds are so comfortable which contribute so much to an enjoyable holiday. Very pleased with our stay at Sea Sunset Cottage.

Thanks for staying - you are right to point out a car is not really needed at all !

“Weekend break”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2016

Excellent position right on the beach, close to pubs restaurants and town centre. House very comfortable and well equipped. Will stay there again, in warmer weather.

Thanks for staying and do hope you book again !

“Excellent location for short break.”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2016

Seaview Sunset Cottage is in an ideal location if you want to be very close to the sea, but also have easy access to a busy/interesting high street and a good range of shops. The cottage is comfortable and warm and had plenty of space for three. We particularly enjoyed the lounge being upstairs, giving stunning views out to sea, which changed constantly and along the beach. Because Whitstable is such a characterful location there were a lot of people around during the day, however in the evenings it becomes quieter and we had no problems sleeping. The cottage was a wonderful location for watching the stars.

Thanks for staying, you are so right to highlight that you are in a peaceful location yet also just moments from the lovely high street with its array of independent shops - we are lucky to still have 5 old fashioned butchers and good community spirit.

“What a View - right on the Beach!”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2015

Such a great location on the beach, Amazing Views - a few minutes walk from all the wonderful Independent Shops in Whitstable. Loads of very good Restaurants near by also. The Cottage is warm, comfortable and very very clean. Good Linen and Towels and a well equipped kitchen. The Owner was very efficient with his emails and details before the stay. We will definitely be returning to stay again!

Thanks for staying and look forward to you coming back soon.

“The most perfect position in Whitstable.”

Sea Sunset Cottage was the perfect place for four friends to stay for our gourmet weekend. Positioned right on the beach listening to the waves crashing on the shingle. The two cosy ground floor bedrooms both have views of the sea as does the spacious upstairs living room enhanced by the balcony which affords a superb view of the sunset . The kitchen provided all the equipment needed to prepare our feasts and feast we did. We sampled most of the places recommended by the owner who obviously knows the area well. Top of the list was the Sportsman at Sea Salter...wow. We lunched at Pearson just a two minute walk from the cottage and in staggering distance home. The two course lunch was beautifully presented and very reasonably priced. We shopped, mostly for food, in the lovely High St. Also recommended were the seafood tarts and other fish sold at Wheelers all so tasty. It was sad to close the door and leave on Sunday morning, if only I could live there forever. My only complaint would be the very early time we were asked to vacate. A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you.

Thanks for staying and you are right to highlight that even out of season Whitstable has a lot to offer and by staying at Sea Sunset Cottage you are within walking or staggering distance of anywhere. I appreciate the comments about checkout time but as the cottage is booked back to back a lot we need the 10-4 time on changeover days to clean and arrange all those little maintenance jobs. A lot of people take advantage of lower Sunday night rates to stay the day and leave early evening rather than vacating on Sunday morning but it's not always possible if we are booked.

“Great place, perfect location.”

I rented this house for my parents, who were visiting from Spain. They're elderly and needed a bathroom near to the bedroom and a central location........they got so much more! Sea Sunset Cottage is perfectly located, It is practically on the beach and yet just a short walk from the town centre, with its pubs and restaurants. The house was clean and tidy and very well equipped. Everything was just as described in the details. The owner was most helpful, answering pre stay queries very promptly and sending information about the property and local amenities ahead of our visit.

Thanks for your review. You are right the cottage is very good for elderly people because you have great views from every room and nowhere is very far to go.

“Our second visit this year - would go again tomorrow”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2015

We stayed at Sea Sunset Cottage in late March and really enjoyed our stay, and we were lucky enough to get another booking for mid-July. The weather was (very nearly) perfect and watching the sun set over the Isle of Sheppey from the upstairs living room / balcony memorable. The cottage is in an ideal location, very comfortable and very happy to recommend it. (Our fifth holiday in Whitstable in recent years and if / when we return, this would be our first choice.)

Thanks for returning to our little cottage by the sea. I hope we can welcome you back again.

“Lovely house right by the sea”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2015

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely beach house. It is only a five minute walk to the town center and the nice restaurants there and on the beach. We can realy recommend this one! Plenty of room for the three of us.

You are right there is plenty to do nearby and its often a delight not to need a car to have a great time. Thanks for staying.

“Perfect location”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2015

Lovely house. Everything there for your convenience. First visit to Whitstable and would recommend . Only downside for us was that we couldn't get in before 4pm and had to be out by 9.30am, which meant we lost a day.

Thankyou so much for staying with us, you are right the house is in a perfect location right on the beachfront. I know people want to get in quickly and - of course - don't want to leave but I do need a window to keep the house spotless for the next guest. Its our first year of letting and as we get more proficient we will see what we can do on the checkin and checkout times. Thanks again.
