“Lovely home, great location and amazing view”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2015

We had a family trip to arran and stayed at Helensleavilla. There were 8 adults and 6 children under 5. We were worried before arriving that the house might be a bit small but it was fine. I don't think photos do it justice. There is a large living room with a beautiful view of the sea. There's a tv, DVD player and wireless internet which all came in handy. the bedrooms are all good sizes. The kitchen and dining areas are small but it didn't matter. We could just about getting everyone around the dining table. The kitchen was really well equipped. We ate in every night and we had everything we needed for cooking. The house was spotless when we arrived and the owners were available to us if we needed anything but we were happy just enjoying the place. The garden is really big and great for kids to run around and play hide and seek. The beach is just a few mins walk down the road. Broddick is about a 20 mins drive where we visited for swimming and soft play on the rainy days. The weather wasn't great while we were there however we loved it so much before the wk was up we decided to book again for the following year. (Although we have gone for August rather than April!) I think the house is really good value and would recommend.

“Fantastic house and facilities in an ideal location”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2015

I stayed at Helenslea with my family and was impressed with the size of the house and the range and quality of the facilities. The gardens were ideal for having BBQ's and having a putt on the green! The location is ideal for Gelnashdale falls and giants graves. The owner was also very helpful. Would highly recommend this property & will be staying again!

“Terrible owner ( not got good service )”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2015

We have booked this cottage for 3 nights . We used cottage very carefully . We have enjoyed a lot . But we had to pay deposit of £150.00 . Before leaving cottage we left house same way we received but owner made so many issues and kept our deposit . Accurately , Owner wanted to keep deposit . She was saying, we got house cheaper . We have sent her email and she is not replying our email . Now no one can help us . And we are out of pocket . So, We will advise not to book this cottage . We went to isle of arran 4 time before . Never received this kind of service . Owner ruined our holiday . Terrible service , If you pay any deposit , owner will keep it as rent . Thanks

I am sorry you feel this way about our house. In the five years we have been letting we have never kept back any damage deposits but in this case we had no choice .We did return part of it as a goodwill gesture.

“Beautiful comfortable house with everything you need.”

Helenslea is a large comfortable house with the most fantastic view of the Clyde. 12 of us spent NEw YEar 2013 here. It is perfect to access walks and any outdoor activities you may choose or if you wish to relax in front of a log fire the spacious lounge Helenslea can accomadation this. The beds are comfortable and the towels are thick and fluffy. I would definitely stay here again.
