There is also a steep staircase with handrails and stair gates fitted.

On the ground floor you with find the lounge with a 40" TV with free view, free sat, DVD and a living flame gas fire. The dining room has table and chairs and a dresser containing some games and books. A few steps take you up to the fully fitted kitchen. The bathroom is fully tiled and has an electric shower over the bath. There is wifi and internet access.

On the first floor you will find two double bedrooms and a single bedroom, all with good storage. For an extra child or baby a 'Z' bed or travel cot can be provided at no extra cost.

Location description from owner

The Scotland region

The village of Whitehills is a small fishing village situated in the North East of Scotland. It's days of fishing now provide much smaller employment with leisure craft using the harbour marina more often than fishing vessels. The village has a holiday feel, with restaurants, play park and a nice beach all within walking distance of the property.

Whitehills

The traditional fishing village of Whitehills lies between Banff and Portsoy . The conservation area of Low Shore was the original village, built on land that once belonged to the Seafield Estate. Over time the tenanted cottages were bought, improved and some extended. The streets between the houses in Low Shore are still rights of way and one can pass freely between any of the houses there. Whitehills is a village with character, it is relatively sheltered but can be wild if the wind comes from the north. Line fishing was the main employment in Whitehills from the early 1700, for over the next 200 years, making a name for itself as the smallest port in Scoltand that operated its own vessels and had its own fish market. Just before the year 2000 the harbour became a marina and is now a very active leisure port. Watching the yachts negotiating entry to the marina can be combined whilst looking for the famous dolphin pods visible from the shore. Seals can be seen sunning themselves on the rocks in the pebble bay where many hours can be spent rockpooling when the tide its out. Bird watching can be mesmerising any where along the coast between Whitehills and Banff. There is a seaside road/track that joins the two communities this provides a lovely walk or cycle. Fishing or surfing on the long sandy beach at Banff provides water sports within walking distance and there are at least 7 golf courses within a 30 minute drive. The vistor centre a Boyndie a 10 min drive away provides excellent cafe style meals and delcious home bakes. It holds information about the RAF Banff, which was based at Boyndie Airfield. It opened in 1943, initially as a training base. From September 1944 it became home to the RAF Banff Strike Wing, flying Beaufighters and Mosquitos. A memorial alongside the A98 is dedicated to the 80 airmen killed in flying operations from here during the last nine months of the war. The airfield closed in 1946. It is now home to the Boyndie Wind Farm. Whitehills has lovely restaurants in the Seafield Hotel and the Galley, There is Downies of Whitehills, a fishmerchant providing an array of seafood produce both fresh frozen and cooked. The village shop has won awards for service and variety. The post office is now located in the village shop.
