Brachkashie Cottage sits on the edge of Loch Knockie in a stunningly beautiful, tranquil setting. There are incredible views over the loch and the property has the benefit of its own jetty, rowing boat and fishing rights. Brachkashie has recently been completely refurbished to a very high standard, with Edwardian style beds and top of the range appliances plus a cosy wood burning stove. The cottage stands in two and a half acres of private grounds alongside it's sister cottage, New Brachkashie which has two bedrooms (one with bunk beds) and is let separately. The loch is in a peaceful and tranquil setting and is a haven for nature and wildlife. Trout fishing is available on Loch Knockie and is by 'fly only'. Brachkashie features a Rangemaster double oven cooker, Nespresso coffee machine and frother. Both the bathroom and shower room have under floor heating as well as heated towel rails and all other rooms have super efficient storage heaters. There are also board games and a good selection of books as well as an iPod dock. The cottage has two double rooms and one single bedroom. There is a travel cot for babies and small children stored under the bed in the single bedroom. Groceries can be delivered to your door via Tesco for added convenience. Nearby are the Falls of Foyers, the town of Fort Augustus, which is situated at the south of the majestic Loch Ness, and a multitude of walking/climbing trails. Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway and time to relax or an active break with rowing, fishing, cycling, golf, walking, picnicking etc, all on your doorstep, Brachkashie Cottage is your perfect, homey base. Brachkashie is featured in the October 2015 issue of Country Homes and Interiors magazine.

The Scottish Highlands region
Trout fishing is available on Loch Knockie and is by 'fly only'.
Loch Knockie is in a peaceful and tranquil setting and is a haven for nature and wildlife.
Fishing season in Scotland – 15th March – 6th October.
Salmon fishing can be arranged on the River Findhorn, River Oich, River Morison, which are all within easy driving distance.
Loch Ness is close by and is the largest, deepest and most mysterious of them all! It is majestic and stunningly beautiful. There is a wonderful drive along Loch Ness on the lower road, which passes through Foyers, on the way to Inverness, which is the most scenic route. The drive down to Fort Augustus, the nearest town, which is just 8 miles away, also provides a breathtaking view right up Loch Ness.
Falls of Foyers:
The Falls of Foyers is worth a visit. A short walk down a fairly steep wooded stepped path leads you to the Falls. There is a café with a proper cappuccino machine and a small general store at Foyers.
Fort Augustus and the Caledonian Canal:
Fort Augustus is just 8 miles from Brachkashie and is the nearest town for provisions. It's an absolutely stunning drive with a look-out point at around the halfway point that gives sweeping, majestic views. There are several pubs, a butcher, post office, general store and a petrol station. The petrol station has a comprehensive general store, gift shop and hardware items.
The Caledonian Canal runs through Fort Augustus before entering Loch Ness and is the navigational route for all the boats passing along the Great Glen. There are a series of Locks in Fort Augustus for the boats to pass through, which are always fun to watch.

We have been in September in the Cottage Brachkashie for 11 days. When we arrived we have straight fallen in love with this Lovely Cottage. It is a dream. We loved the view over our private Loch and my son and his girlfriend loved to make every day when the weather was fine a trip outside with the boat. . Every room is furnished with love. We have had a wonderful relaxing time there. we can recommend this nice cottage at 100%. It's the perfect place to destress and also have fun with the family.
I'm delighted to hear you loved Brachkashie so much! I'm sorry (and quite surprised!) to see we didn't score full marks in every category and hope we will next time! All the best, Carrie
