Description

This is the only Coastguard Boat House on Belfast Lough available as a holiday let. Set a metre from the Lough, the Boat house has stunning sea views from all windows including a view of the famous Belfast Cranes (Samson and Goliath.)

Yet despite its sea side location, it is less than ten minutes from Belfast's lively Cathedral Quarter with all the pubs, clubs and world leading restaurants and from the Titanic Belfast Museum. A train station is less than ten mins away - and you can be in the city in (two stops) five minutes, or catch a bus right outside the private lane and be in town in 15 minutes.

Only just rennovated and set to open in December 2018, the Boat House has kept some of its original features, including a beamed ceiling, original Coastguard Boat house rigging and a 1830s window. It has all modern conveniences - and a brand new extra long "hand made in Belfast bed" to ensure the only thing keeping you awake is the sound of the sea.

On your door step are sea wrecks, and children staying get a special welcome pack to explore the Boat House and its history. A sea path takes you to a play ground and to The White House, an open museum - one of the oldest buldings in NI. You are also less than ten minutes from Carrickfergus Castle and five minutes from Belfast Castle and the famous Cavehill.

This is a unique experience for couples and families.

Getting around

A bus stop is right outside the door with frequent bus service to Belfast City Centre (20 minutes) or Carrickfergus (ten minutes). In less than five minutes you can walk to Whiteabbey station and two stops (five minutes) via rail takes you into the City Centre. If you want to go the Giant's Causeway then a 40 minute scenic train journey will take you there.

Interaction with guest

Guests can interact with the hosts as much or as little as required. The hosts live on site and can immediately address any problems, but will not infringe upon your holiday if you don't need us. The Boat House is in a private area with its own separate entrance so absolute discretion is guaranteed.

House rules

No parties allowed. The Boathouse is dog friendly but due to space we cannot accommodate any more than two dogs and we cannot accommodate puppies (dogs under a year old.) No smoking or live flames (candles or incense) to be used in the Boat House. No BBQs or fires on slipway- there is room for BBQ in location in park beside Boat House.

How do damage deposits work?
