“Dreadful”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2017

Do not book this property until you are sure it has had a thorough clean and overhaul. Also, don't be misled into believing that it is suitable for three couples. Could be a lovely holiday let if given lots of tlc.

Owner's reply: The description of the property explains all the lay out of the rooms to assist when booking the property. If there were issues with the cleanliness of the house, these should have been advised at the time so that the cleaners could have been informed to rectify the problem

“Clean, tidy and spacious”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2015

The house was clean and presentable, it had every thing we needed and our stay was comfortable. There was plenty of room for all the family and we didn't feel we were under each other's feet. Location was fab with all amenities a short walk away.

“Excellent Stay.”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2014

Me and a group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, not only is there plenty of space which is well heated , all the mod cons and only a very short walk to town centre. Had a great time and will definitely be making a return visit.

“great base for a hol in whitby”

Whitby!! what a place, great friendly people, loads to do, loads of history and things to see will defo be going back. Number 17 great base to stay just on the edge of town and perfect distance for a little stroll to bustling centre of this great town, there's loads for the kids and us big kids to, so if you get the chance to go do so and number 17 is a friendly well equipped place to stay!! Thank you Michelle you made it easy and stress free to book.

“spacious house with an Ideal location to access whitby”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2014

Lovely house but you need to be fit as lots of stairs. House was home from home had everything you needed. Beds were comfy and rooms spacious. Parking a little bit of an issue, you soon realised if you managed to find a space you stuck with it. All in all a fab weekend was had by all!

“Perfect location-stress free vacation!”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2013

Booking the property was very easy indeed. The owner was prompt and polite with all emails and made the process very simple. Arriving at the property was easy also, directions were clear-the only quibble was the lack of on street parking. Being adjacent to Whitby hospital at visiting time meant hoping for the best with the car. However, in truth you do not need a car as the location of this property is excellent-literally 5 minutes brisk walk and you're in Baxtergate! We travelled as a group of 7, 3 adults, 1 teen and 3 under 4s and the facilities in the property were very good, the kitchen was clean, modern and contained everything you would need in a rental. There is a toilet/bathroom on every floor but the basement which was incredibly useful as we had a teenager, two toddlers and a baby. All clean and showers easy to operate. The lounge had a TV, wi-fi was very useful as was the boardgames and couple of baby toys provided. If there was any criticism to be found it was that the quality of one mattress (double-top floor) could be replaced but it didn't have a real impact on the quality of our break. Overall we felt that this property provided superb value for money. You are close to the town centre, the property was as described and very well equipped. Really couldn't fault it and hopefully would love to book it again!

“Lovely accommodation close to centre”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2013

Had a fab weekend away. The house has everything you need which doesn't always happen in holiday properties. It was spacious and well presented and so close to the centre of whitby. It was also quite easy to park too. Would definitely recommend. Only thing I would say is that there are quite a lot of stairs as you would imagine in a 2 storey house and we wished we'd taken a baby gate as we had toddlers with us.

“looking forward to next year”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2013

This our 5th year staying at George Street, we love it. The house is big enough for all of us and the dog. It's a short walk in to Whitby, where there is lots to do. We enjoyed the bumper boats, go karts, crabbing, fish and chips at the magpie, vintage shopping, climbing the 199 steps to the Abbey and having hot chocolate in the café, going on Harry's ghost walk and lots more! We will be booking again for next year.

“A great place to stay and enjoy your trip to Whitby”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2013

My family and I stayed for 3 nights and we throughly enjoyed the accomodation and our trip. It was a late booking and the owner and cleaners were great in getting us the keys and also being refreshingly flexible and helpful about when we could arrive and indeed leave. The house was clean and well-equipped, and pleasant all-round. Parking in the street outside was not a problem either - once had to park in the next street, but no big deal. The location is ideal too - very close to the action in the very centre.

“Fabulous place to stay”

Reviewed 2 Jun 2013

We had a fantastic time in Whitby and we can't praise the accomodation highly enough. The house is very clean, nicely furnished and well located- only minutes walk from the town centre, with a great view of the abbey from the top floor. The only downside was that we were not there for longer! We will definitely be going back to George Street.
