“Ruth”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2016

We had to make a phone call to find it but Amber gave us clear directions. Beautiful location with plenty of space for humans and dogs, comfortable beds and great shower. Warm welcome from Amber with a welcome pack of milk, bread, butter, eggs, tea and coffee that was very much appreciated. Will be back and highly recommended

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your review Ruth and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

“Great property in a great location”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2016

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at Barton Lodge. It is a Victorian 3 bed lodge situated on the Osbourn Eastate 5 min drive from the ferry. It's location provides an excellent base in which to explore the island as it is central to travel to either side of the Lila do with local shops and pubs/returants with in easy reach. Amber met us on arrival and was kind enough to provide us with bread milk and eggs, the lodge is fully equipped and beautifully presented with amply room for the 4 of us. It has a fantastic garden which the dog and children loved playing in. It is situated by a busy road that at times can be a little noisy but it is nothing that would stop me from booking again. I would certainly recommend this to any family thinking of visiting the island not only for its central location but its charm and warmth of a period Lodge.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your review which is much appreciated! We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Best Amber

“A wonderful, idyllic setting for a relaxing stay.”

The cottage was cosy and comfortable, in a perfect setting for a long weekend of rest. 2 log burners to add to the atmosphere of this historic cottage.

“New Years Eve!”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2015

We stayed in Barton Lodge for a few days over New Year and it was great! (three adults two teenagers and a dog). In the run up before the stay Amber was prompt, helpful and generally brilliant at answering queries. When we arrived she was there to meet us and had left us the basics (milk, bread, eggs even a chilled bottle of fizz for New Years Eve.) The cottage is in a great location - Osborne House and The Folly Inn (great pub) are a walk away, and in terms of supermarkets Waitrose is a very short drive into East Cowes. The cottage itself, has a wonderful Victorian exterior, but inside is modern, cosy & warm. The two main bedrooms are big rooms, and each bedroom has fantastically comfy beds! With it being the end of December we didn't get much use out of the garden but it is good size. The two reception rooms both have wood-burners and we were left logs etc.. As other reviews have said - Clive and Amber were fantastic and did everything possible to make our stay perfect.

Owner's reply: Thanks Kate for your lovely review - and so glad that you had a good New Year's Eve!!
