“A wonderful place to stay !!!”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2019

We had a marvellous relaxing short break here. A beautiful location and immaculately clean and interesting cottage. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again

Owner's reply: Really glad you enjoyed your stay. It would be lovely to see you again.

“Amazing!”

Wanted a short break away. Mary replied quickly to a last minute booking confirming availability. Beautiful property and perfect location for an escape from the hustle and bustle. The Cruk barn had everything you could possibly need, spotlessly clean, fully equipped kitchen area and perfect views from the balcony. Had planned for an evening out but the barn was so warm homely and cosy we stayed in and called a local takeaway. Books magazines dvd’s Board games everything for a perfect night in. Would definitely return, two nights not enough time to visit the local landmarks. Thank you Mary and Ray

Owner's reply: Really glad you enjoyed your break. Thank you for your kind comments. Look forward to seeing you both again

We have just stayed here for a couple of nights. The owners were there to greet us on arrival and had also prividet fresh scones which was a lovely touch. The cottage had everything you needed and The views and surroundings were beautiful. My little girl loved visiting the sheep in the nearby field. Also great location for visiting matlock which is a short drive away. Thanks for a pleasent stay.

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed your short stay. Hope to see you again.

“Clean, cosy, beautiful and friendly.”

An excellent place to stay - great value for money too. It's very clean and organised and it is in a beautiful, very remote area. The owners also go above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one. We hope to return again in the summer, after our 'winter stay'. - Lee

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to your return.

I surprised the girlfriend with a weekend away to propose to her. It went very well and she said yes but the setting and location and facilities in and out the cottage were fantastic. The kitchen is modern and of great quality and has everything you need, the second night we put the log burner on whilst having a romantic meal. The bonus was the bedroom which was like a main living room with sofas and then the balcony with the lovely views. We enjoyed breakfast out on the balcony both morning which was a great way to start the day. Mary agreed to pop in and switch on the decorations I bought to surprise by now fiancée just prior to us arriving which was very good of her. The stay was fantastic and would highly recommend and will deffo visit again for another break. Great for our little dog too who loved exploring the paddock. It felt very safe with the electric gates and was extremely peaceful and quiet throughout our entire stay. Lastly the home made scones and jam were better than the ones I brought from marks and Spencer's, so big thumbs up.

Owner's reply: So glad she said yes. You will be very welcome at a future date.
