“Pleasant long weekend”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2015

We used Sand Dunes to meet up with our sons, daughter in law and granddaughter. The location was good; an easy walk to the beach and close to a few cafés, restaurants and food shops. It is in a lovely part of the country, handy for the bigger cities of Portsmouth and Southampton but with a really rural feel. Sand Dunes provided one dedicated parking space in front of the garage but we had to take our chances on the communal parking for our second car (first night we had to park on the main road). The bedrooms were a decent size and beds very comfortable but the rooms hadn't been cleaned as thoroughly as I would have liked; there were a few bits of rubbish lying under my bed. The bathroom however was clean and modern. Kitchen equipment was basic but adequate. There were a couple of things missing we would have used (e.g. a cafetiere would have been good) but we survived without them. Internet access was a bit of an issue; a USB dongle was provided but since we only had smart phones and iPads, we were unable to use it. Altogether, we had a pleasant weekend and would be happy to return to Sand Dunes.

“Lovely property, great location, definitely recommend”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2014

Really happy with this holiday rental, comfortable and well presented, good location for families, nice park beach and places to eat nearby.

Hi Rachel. Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Sand Dunes and for your positive feedback in your review.. We enjoyed your very polite and friendly emails and would be delighted if you stayed again. Best wishes Angie and Mark.

“Great location in a lovely part of the world”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2013

A lovely house, tastefully decorated, well equipped and fantastically well located. We enjoyed using the bikes to get to the magnificent beach in West Wittering. Also used it as a base for exploring Portsmouth (the wonderful Historic Dockyards), Bosham and Chichester. Great communications from the owners.

Hello again Julie. Thank you for your review, we are delighted you enjoyed it and are grateful you were kind enough to take the trouble to write one. Hope you will come and stay again soon. Best wishes Mark and Angie.

“Fun in the Sun”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2013

We really enjoyed our week at Sand Dunes- our grandchildren especially loved the beach and having chocolate pancakes for breakfast at the Beach House around the corner..Sand Dunes was attractively furnished and very comfortable and we would definitely like to come again, The only suggestions/criticism we would have is to request another full lengh mirror in the double bedroom and a small mirror in the downstairs loo and hooks on backs of doors for hanging towels or whatever .

Hello David. Thank you very much for your kind review. We are delighted you enjoyed it and hope you will come again. Thanks also for the suggestions which we will adopt. Best wishes Mark and Angie.

“No sea view but everything else you could possibly want in a holiday cottage.”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

A clean and bright cottage that has been very tastfully furnished. You feel you are on holiday the minute you walk through the door. Easy level walk to the beach where there is a good cafe and loos. Shops and places to eat all near. Also playing fields with children's swings etc.

Hello Pamela. Thank you very much for your positive review, we are glad you had a good time. Thank you also for pointing out there is not a sea view, we would love one of course, but don't claim to have one. We hope you will be back again soon Many thanks. Mark and Angie.

“A must!”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2013

Everything you could need and more. 5 minutes from the beach. 10 minutes from Chichester. 25 minutes from Portsmouth. The house was in excellent decorative order. There was plenty of room and plenty to do. Situated in a cul-de-sac away from the main road so it was nice and quiet. Thanks, Mark and Angie, for a great stay!!

Dear Karl. We are delighted you had an enjoyable stay.Thank you very much for taking the time to give such a positive review. Best wishes Mark and Angie.

“Beautiful little house was everything we would wish for.”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2013

The house was fresh and welcoming and the garden was a little sun trap. Mark even bought a high chair and baby bath in preparation for our arrival. I recommend this house and location for those with children, even if you don't have a car, provided the little ones can be pushed, or walk to the beach (which is about a mile away - but a very pleasant walk).

Thank you very much for your review Louise, we are pleased you had a good holiday with the children and that you enjoyed it without the need of a car for the week. Best wishes Mark and Angie.

“A lovely beach retreat”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2013

We arrived on a wet and cold Friday evening for a weekend break with 3 friends and was welcomed into a warm, impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable house in West Wittering. Mark had left tea, coffee and milk and all the info we could possibly need on the surrounding area. Despite the weather we had a lovely walk to West Wittering beach and East Head (only 10 mins), one of the best fish and chips at the restaurant around the corner and warm and cosy pub across the road so we didnt have to use the car once! Infact, we felt so at home at Sand Dunes that we spent most of the days hanging there as it was comfortable, light, airy and very good beds! Perfect stay for a group of friends or a family and so much to do in the area.

So sorry not to have responded and thanked you for your review earlier, I am afraid I missed it. Thank you also for such flattering comments, we are pleased you had a good break at Sand Dunes and hope to hear from you again soon. Many thanks Mark.

“Great little holiday pad and superb location”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2012

We had a fabulous time at this property. Walking distance to the beach. Great weather. Close to Chichester and Portsmouth, i.e. Gunwarf. Fulfilled all our requirements. The house itsself was very nice, very clean and catered for everything we needed. Would definately stay there again.

Dear Kimberley G. Thank you for being our first visitor from Germany and for your nice comments. It was a pleasure to have you stay and hope to hear from you again. Many thanks, Angie and Mark Jeffries.

“Simple well-presented holiday home near to the beach”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2012

Brilliant location near to the beach with excellent attractions located within 30 minute drive. The home had been recently renovated so was full of new equipment, bedding and carpet. There a few teething problems, such as no internet access for the first few days, a visiting handyman to fix some curtain rails, and carpet tacks sticking upwards resulting in a minor injury. Hopefully these issues won't be a problem for future guests. We have children so one downside was the lack of door on the kitchen which meant that noise in the evening could easily travel upstairs, including a particularly loud washing machine. The house was well-equipped with thoughtful items such as a laundry airer. The main dampener on the holiday was that we were accused afterwards of taking some bedding, which we did not do. We were asked to pay for the missing items, which seemed unfair seeing as we had not taken them. It left a bad taste in our mouths and spoiled an otherwise lovely week.

Emma A. Thank you Emma very much for your kind review. We are pleased you enjoyed yourselves and are very sorry you felt disappointed to have been asked if you had taken a missing duvet cover by mistake. The matter was dropped and we returned your full deposit. Best wishes, Angie and Mark
