Description from owner

Description

Old Farm was built in 1345 by the monks of Glastonbury Abbey as a resting place for pilgrims. The farmhouse and the traditional farm buildings are English Heritage 2* status putting them in the top 5% of all listed buildings in the UK. They have now been subject to an award winning restoration around the original thatched house. The Cider House is a cosy self contained cottage, which still has the original wooden cider press. It has a separate garden, seating area with barbecue and private parking.Guests are welcome to use the fields around the farm. There is a pond and outstanding views to Glastonbury Tor and across to Wells Cathedral. Old Farm is a family home and we have donkeys, moorhens, chickens, cat, dog and sheep (9 at last count!) all of which enjoy the company of our visitors. Safely tucked away are our 4 bee hives, we love to see our bees collecting nectar from the flowers we have planted! Upstairs in the property are two very large bedrooms. Bedroom 1 with a super king size

Location description from owner

The England region

Old Farm is a unique and beautiful place to stay dating back to 1345.

It was totally derelict when we bought it in 2006 and we have completely restored in over the last 10 years and it now has all the modern conveniences we all expect but in a traditional and historical background

West Pennard

Well.. Glastonbury is a very special small town and well worth a visit, of course it is world know for its Abbey, religious history and spirituality but it is also refreshing alternative to the ubiquitous shopping centres etc. You can walk to Glastonbury Tor directly from Old Farm across fields, it takes under an hour, the view from the top is stunning

The city of Wells and its cathedral is about 15 mins away and is beautiful and full of independent shops. Further a filed but within easy reach is Bath and Bristol is comfortably under 1 hour away by car.
