Set in the beautiful Somerset countryside with views of Glastonbury Tor, The Summerhouse is the perfect rural getaway.

Staying at The Summerhouse guests can enjoy lots of outside space - coffee under the willow and sunsets and even, out of season, misty autumnal mornings from the comfort of the living space with the joy of underfloor heating!

With countryside walks and cycle routes on your doorstep, the Summerhouse is perfectly placed for visitors to Somerset looking to explore the local area. Located close to Glastonbury and the historical Cathedral city of Wells, there are many and varied attractions to visit from traditional cider making to majestic heritage sites.

Getting around

A car is recommended. There is a local bus service to Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet - but it is infrequent - maybe not an issue if you are happy (as some guests have been) to take time travelling and by circuitous routes. Taxis are available but of course not cheap. The nearest train station is Castle Cary, a 20 minute drive.

Interaction with guest

Living close to The Summerhouse, I am on hand to help, at the same time fully appreciating guests wish for privacy and chance to escape the busy-ness of life. I hope that guests will find everything they need in the property. It is well equipped and supplied with all the essentials. There are always a few extras to welcome them - as well as plenty of up to date local tourist information guides and leaflets.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
