- Very Good
The accommodation was set on the hill of North Street on the quieter side of the river. Views over the river and town were stunning. Being December, it was chilly out but the heating in the flat was extremely efficient, so we stayed nice and cosy It was well equipped, but I found the oven quite difficult to negotiate. Maybe a separate oven with a microwave on the work top would be more helpful. We both found the bed very uncomfortable as it was way too hard. Consequently we didn't sleep well at all. Unfortunately, we couldn't get onto the internet as the password wasn't recognised, which hindered our stay slightly as we needed to connect for walks and eateries. Also , the second night was a massive storm which knocked the TV and the radio out. Good job we both love to read. Only other thing which was a little frustrating, was we arrived in the dark and drove past it twice as signage not very clear. On entering the front door the door swings inwards and it took us a good 10 minutes to locate the key boxes as they are on the back of the front door, so as it swings in, the boxes are not in sight. Maybe it was just us as we were very tired after a very long drive. Would we stay again? Only if a better mattress was in place.
“Lovely apartment with beautiful views”
We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the apartment, it’s so well decorated and furnished it was a pleasure to stay there. The view from the French doors over the harbour is beautiful during the day and looks so pretty with all the harbour and house lights when it gets dark. It’s in a prime location for the town, which we really enjoyed exploring. The only drawbacks were that I couldn’t connect to WiFi when we were there although it is advertised as having it. Despite contacting the owner we couldn’t resolve this issue. Also, there’s no way to have a shower without getting the floor wet because of the design of the glass bath panel. We did find the parking to be a bit of a chore too as it’s a 15 minute walk to the nearest free parking, which wouldn’t have been a problem if it wasn’t uphill! Overall though, it was still a good stay and the apartment is lovely and I would recommend the apartment if WiFi isn’t needed.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your review, so pleased you loved the apartment. Unfortunately the WiFi was out of our control and was apparently out in Looe because of storms. We have been in touch with BT and they informed us that they have now resolved all the problems and is working perfectly in the apartment as normal.
2nd visit and enjoyed it just as much. Visited some places we'd missed before. Discovered Hannafore Point. Hoping to manage a fortnight next year.
Owner's reply: Dear John, thank you for your kind review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Looe and surrounds keep on revealing new and interesting places and we will be very happy to welcome you back. Best wishes Sheila
On arrival we found the Apartment immaculately clean and the furnishings were of a very high quality. The view from the terrace of Looe Harbour was outstanding. We had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend this Apartment to any couple looking for a high standard of accomadation in a perfect location. Cant wait to book for next year.
Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your glowing recommendation of Polmear and look forward to welcoming you again. Sheila
“Lovely flat in great location”
This lovely little well equipped flat provided us with the perfect base for exploring this part of Cornwall. Great view across the harbour to East Looe, very friendly and helpful local people, good restaurants a short walk across the bridge, proximity to Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan - so may boxes ticked for us - we really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed for a second week.
“excelent location excelent accomadation excelent holiday.”
first class appartment very well situated and very well equiped every thing needed was there, spotlessly clean & tidy a nice base camp to explore cornwall from. loads of information in the appartment guiding you to all the attractions & places of intrest. we have already told friends & family about the appartment & advised them to try it out. an excelent holiday in an excelent accomadation we are sure to return.
“Cosy with amazing views”
A great location with amazing views across the harbour. The apartment is very comfortable with a homely feel. All the facilities you could wish for making it a great place to stay if the weather isn't too good! The location is perfect for the great range of restaurants in Looe and very central for day trips around Cornwall. Highly recommended.
“a beautifully kitted out flat with a superb harbour view, conveniently situated”
Most pleasant neighbourhood with a lovely old church, a local pub, The Jolly Sailor, with Cornish singing evenings, a delicatessen and a mini market. Almos at the starting point of a glorious weaterly promenade and further along a beautiful coastal path to Polperro.
“Fabulous accommodation & Beautiful views!”
We stayed at Polmear for a week and it instantly felt like it was a cosy home away from home. Gorgeous apartment - with the most beautiful views of the pretty little seaside town. We had great sunny blue skies all week and sat outside on the balcony indulging in cream teas - watching at the fishermen and the tides come in and out - it was simply stunning! I thought the apartment was beautifully decorated and loved the seaside theme! it was very clean, comfortable and had everything you need. There is also a few shops only a couple of minutes walk down the road & the main town a quick boat ride across the harbour if you don't wish to walk the way round too - which was fun! As a photographer I found Looe absolutely great for seascapes, landscapes and got some awesome shots from this holiday! I cannot recommend this place enough - everything you need and more! Thank you!!!
