“Beware”

I cannot express how awful the apartment was from start to finish. Having been to quite a few premises through Holiday Lettings I do not think that this property is up to their standards. • On arrival we were greeted with a dirty hall way floor. •a guy who was looking after the property let us in then he stayed around for about an hour which was very odd. • We pointed out to him that the fridge had not been cleared of the old food in it, nor cleaned - he did not seem bothered. • The whole apartment was very dirty, the kitchen floor was filthy the window sills were very dirty and also the whole place needed dusting. • The microwave had splashed food in it. • The dishwasher did not work. The sink leaked and the solution was just blocked it with a sponge. This meant we needed to mop the floor lots. • The main bathroom was dirty and smelt. • The en-suite shower would not drain water. • The threshold bar under the door to the en-suite was broken and resulted in one of our party cutting their foot on it • Some of the bedding had dirty marks on. • The rooms had not been cleaned and there was lots of bits of rubbish under the beds. • One of the front room was coming down. • The sash windows did not stay open and are dangerous. • we saw a mouse in the main bedroom (the one with 6 beds in) this upset everyone. The solution to this was to put black bags in the fire place. Which seemed both dangerous and not very useful. • On the morning of checkout at 07.15 am 2 men let them self into the property and asked for the bedding. Everyone was still in bed. • The iron was taped up with masking tape. • The extractor fan in the main bathroom was extremely dirty and did not work. The décor in the apartment needs updating which we would not have minded, the property has potential to be a great holiday letting - but being dirty is not acceptable.

Owner's reply: These accusations are for the most part exaggerated or completely untrue. The excess food in the cupboard was cleared out as soon as it was pointed out and the cleaner stayed less than 30 minutes - and that was only to put away some dishes and to assist in setting up an extra bed. We came round to the apartment as quickly as possible in response to the issues with the leaking sink and mouse - and managed to resolve them both of them. The men who came to pick up the laundry had been told not to come that day, so that was out of our control. Other than that, the apartment had been fully cleaned, only the floor had not been mopped, which we apologised for at the time.
