Chesil Lodge Cottage is situated in the beautiful coastal hamlet of West Bexington, one of Dorset's best kept secrets, and just a stone's throw from the spectacular Chesil beach. The cottage itself is a comfortably appointed wooden chalet with its own private driveway, ample parking and small enclosed private garden. There is a wooden veranda seating area with sea and countryside views.

Inside there is one double bedroom and a further bedroom with a double bed and single bunk above. There is also a sofa bed in the lounge which can be utilised if required.

There is a bathroom with an electric shower (no bath), a well equipped kitchen with seating for 4, and a comfortable lounge with 2 sofas, flat screen television and a DVD player.

West Bexington has a highly regarded public house and restaurant and a wonderful organic farm shop. The area is renowned for its fishing as well as being an excellent base for bird watching and walking, being situated right on the South West Coastal Path.

Nearby attractions include, the picture postcard thatched village of Abbotsbury with its numerous art galleries and tea rooms, as well its popular Swannery, Sub Tropical Gardens, and Children's Farm.

Burton Bradstock, some 3 miles away has a family friendly beach and the renowned and award winning seafood restaurant, Hive Beach Café.

Only slightly further afield are the larger centres, such as the vibrant, artistic and cultural town of Bridport, the fun, family resort of Weymouth, and the historic centres such as Dorchester and Lyme Regis.

Chesil Lodge Cottage provides a fantastic location from which to explore the Dorset countryside and World Heritage Jurassic Coast, whether it is for a family holiday, walking, bird watching, fishing or cycling, or, just to get away from it all.

Please note that although there is free WiFi it is rather slow and mobile reception could be best described as patchy!

Chris Lodge Cottage is well equipped, very comfortable and a lovely place for a holiday. You do not need to go Europe for a tan -as the garden is a real sun trap,very private.( would have appreciated a parasol ) Fabulous Beach-minute walk from cottage. Good Fish Restaurant at beach. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely time staying here, although the sat-nav didn't think it existed at times. The Cellar Bar in the Manor House was very welcoming, although the meals were a bit expensive. We explored lots of places like Bridport, West Bay (Very busy), Dorchester, Sherborne and the Haynes Motor Museum. Beware of going to stately homes on a Friday, as we found a couple that were closed on that day for dusting..The birds in the garden of the cottage were well fed by us, no seagulls, but blue tits wrens ,blackbirds etc. There were rabbits and horses in the field and all in all it was very enjoyable.

This is great rental, we have been twice this year already & may do a 3rd if possible. We find it lovely & peaceful. The new shower is really good too. We can't fault it.

The area is beautiful. The cabin is amazing. Big garden with different types of birds in it. Blue tits ect.lots of space inside with home from home equipment.The beds were very comfortable.beach is stoney and only a min walk away.Good beach for walks and flying kites.Good size tv with dvd player.No phone signal,there is WiFi but isn't great.the cabin is nice and private and tucked away. Would definitely recommend.

The lodge is warm, clean, bright, well equipped, comfy. We could see the sun rise and set from its windows. As we were on a walking weekend it was such a nice home to come home to at the end of the day. There is a beautiful old hotel/pub just a few yards up the road (check out the Jacobean paneling upstairs). Good food.

Nice little holiday lodge. Stayed there 3 adults + a 1yr old. it's on a farely steep hill. Walking distance to the pebble beach. Walking distance to the local pub and an organic farm where we bought fresh salad most days and burgers for the way home. House is comfortable and well laid out, it worked for our stay. you can see the sea from the lodge, it's about 15metres from the road. Very quiet at night.
