Description

2 Pauls Maltings is a first floor apartment, beautifully furnished in coastal style with stunning views across the Quay and out to sea. Ideally located, guests can relax in the comfortable apartment whilst watching sea craft come and go, children crabbing and adults strolling along the Quay. The apartment has high ceilings making it light, airy and spacious for the summer but with double glazing and central heating, it's really warm in the winter and ideally located for a winter break bird-watching or walking on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. Solid oak furnishings throughout including an oak king size bed with good quality mattress make 2 Pauls Maltings as ideal for a family holiday as it is for a short winter break.

Internally the property is designed to make it a social space where you can prepare a meal in the high quality kitchen whilst enjoying views across the harbour and out to sea whilst chatting with the other guests in the living area. Thoughtful finishing

Thoughtful finishing touches include a well-stocked bookcase, bird watching telescope, unlimited wi-fi, internet TV, a selection of Blue-Ray/ DVDs and games, picnic set and maps of the local area along with resident teddy bear.

The property has the benefit of an allocated parking space which is really useful as parking during peak times can be difficult in Wells.

Prices quoted are for two guests using one bedroom. An additional charge of £30 per stay will be made for up to two more guests to cover laundry costs. There is a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge which may be suitable to accommodate up to two more guests for a couple of nights. The owners do not accept bookings for parties of four or more guests for a week as the apartment, with only one bathroom is unsuitable for this number of people for any more than a couple of nights. There will be an additional charge of £30 to book the spare bedding to be used for this purpose to cover the laundry costs.

Location description from owner

The East Anglia region

North Norfolk is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has something to offer everyone. There are big blue skies and a glorious unspoilt coast where you can relax, walk, sail, hire a traditional beach hut or enjoy some bird-watching. Further afield from Wells-next-the-sea are some traditional pretty Norfolk villages including Burnham Market, Binham, The Creakes, Blakeney and Morston from where you can join a trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point - during the Winter months they can often be seen relaxing on Wells beach at low tide - watching you watching them! The lovely North Norfolk Coastal path runs along the whole of the North Norfolk Coast and whether you are an ambitious walker or just out for a stroll you can enjoy the coastal scenery on a walk on part of the path and if you are too tired to walk back, catch the Coasthopper bus to return you to your starting point. Alternatively, there is the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway where you can visit the Christian shrines of our Lady at Walsingham and the Abbey there.

Wells-next-the-Sea

Wells-next-the-Sea has a multi-award winning beach which runs for miles and is backed by ancient pinewoods and fringed by a row of traditional British beach huts. There are local shops selling locally produced meat, fish, fruit and veg etc along with buckets and spades and traditional holiday trinkets. Alongside are some galleries where you can either browse or buy, independent clothes and jewellery shops and coffee houses. There is a supermarket in the town and a large superstore 15 minutes drive away.

Take a harbour tour or visit the boating lake with canoes, rowing boats, trampolines and crazy and mini golf. There is a skate park and a wonderful children's playground with its very own Pirate Ship located near to the harbour office. The mini railway will take you to the beach in no time, or enjoy the walk along 'The Run' with views of the harbour and marine craft.

A stones throw away lies Holkham Park where you can explore Holkham Hall, the Bygones Museum and the Walled Gardens with resident deer. The Norfolk Coast Cycleway runs through the town and you can hire bicycles a few yards away from the apartment.

Getting around

There is an excellent bus service along the A149 coast road called The Coasthopper. The nearest stop is just yards from the apartment. The service runs along the entire length of the coast from Kings Lynn to Cromer. It is handy to take the bus and walk back or have a walk and catch the bus back if you've gone on longer than planned. There is a small train to the beach - ideal for families and the Wells to Walsingham light railway too. For those who want to travel further afield for eating/drinking, there are local taxi services to ensure you don't need to take you car.

Interaction with guest

We don't live in Wells but we do have a representative in the town who will be able to respond to any issues that might arise, e.g. TV not working. Kay collection arrangements will be sent to you near to the date of arrival - these will vary depending on time time of year and your estimated time of arrival.

“Excellent accommodation, good position”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

The flat was very well furnished and equipped. The views across the harbour were first class. The access to the flat involves a number of external steps and may be difficult for someone with mobility difficulties in bad weather.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Hope you come again soon!

“Fantastic stay”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2015

My girlfriend and I had a great stay at 2 Paul Maltings! Its location is perfect, great view and easy to find. We loved how well the kitchen was stocked up with pretty much everything you could have wanted. The apartment was bright and airy with plenty of space, the WIFI was fast and also appreciated the parking space. We would both highly recommend 2 Paul Maltings and hope to return over the summer.

Owner's reply: We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The location is quite perfect - the best view in Wells. We'd love to welcome you again in the Summer.

Just returned from our 2nd stay in this lovely apartment and already booked again for later this year. There is everything you would need in the apartment and in Wells itself to have a lovely relaxing holiday plus the view overlooking the quay and beach pathway are amazing, changing throughout the day, can't wait to return.

Owner's reply: Great to have you back and to know you love Wells and 2 Pauls Maltings as much as we do.

“Oustanding location and apartment”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2014

Absoluetly lovely apartment overlooking the harbour, right in the centre of everything. Beautifully furnished and equiped, fantastic views, a really luxurious haven. Huge bonus - a dedicate parking space, nice and convenient and a stone throw away. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! Carolyn and Paul

Owner's reply: So pleased that you enjoyed your Winter break. The bird watching in December is excellent, either in the great outdoors or from the comfort of the apartment. The view is unrivalled in Wells. Thank you for your kind comments.

“Fabulous flat, good central location yet peaceful and homely.”
