From the owner

We are opening again! From 26 April we will be able to welcome guests from one household who live within the UK. Then from the 17th May we hope the rules will be eased again to allow up to 4 people from up to 2 households to book a holiday together (Children 12 years and under not included.) If you have any questions please contact me before booking.

Burnside Cottage is a lovely three bedroomed holiday home, situated on the Isle of Skye on the stunning Waternish peninsular. With breathtaking sea views over Loch Bay and towards the Outer Hebrides Burnside Cottage is the perfect place to unwind, relax and truly get away from it all.

The cottage, originally built in the 1880s, has recently been restored and has a contemporary feel. It has a large fully equipped kitchen/dining room which leads into the cosy sitting room with leather sofas and a wood burning stove - ideal to while a way cold Scottish evenings. A large picture window gives views out towards the Loch. There is WI-FI, satellite TV and a Hi-fi system with docking for an iPod.

The holiday cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps up to six people. The Master, has a large king-size double bed and ensuite bathroom, the other double has twin or a double bed and the third room has bunk beds. All the rooms have stunning views towards Loch Bay.

The whole house is double glazed and centrally heated. The cottage is also equipped with a washing machine and tumble drier.

A small garden with a patio is an great spot to sit and enjoy the fantastic scenery and watch the wildlife.

Please note: The cottage is almost divided into 2 sides with the en-suite double bedroom being separated from the rest of the house by the kitchen and sitting room and out of earshot of the rest of the house. For families with very small children it would be best to sleep in the twin bedroom which is adjacent to the children´s room.

Why can't I call Sara (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Sara (the owner) a message.

If Sara (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
