“Great location , warm and welcoming , nothing too much trouble.”
We rented this property for a 60th birthday celebration with extended family (there were 12 of us incl 2 small children) it was perfect, plenty of room without being in each others way. It was warm , welcoming and cosy for this time of year. Nothing was too much trouble for Justin (the owner) who arrived with scones clotted cream and cider ! Lovely views and only 5 minutes walk to the beach .
“Beautiful House - perfect for large groups/families”
Fantastic house, so much space. The best place in the house is the open plan kitchen/diner opening out through french doors to the decking. This was the hub of the house when we visited. Situated a short walk from the beach (and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant), it's a perfect place for a family holiday or stay away with friends. When we visited the weather wasn't fantastic, we took full advantage of the Aga and wood burners. This made for a very cosy stay. I'd like to revisit when the weather's a little warmer, and maybe we could break open the barbecue! I'd definitely recommend this house, booking was easy, and the owner was very helpful.
“Wow want to go back soon”
Beautiful well equipped house everything you need and more. Great location short walk to the beach. Although you may not want to leave the house so homely and comfy. Lovely garden, everything you could want and more from this house. Can't wait to go back.
“Beautiful house in perfect location”
I stayed at Watersend with my family over Christmas. The weather was pretty awful but Watergate is such a stunning spot even when it was raining to great to walk the dogs on the coastal paths and the lovely beach. The house was always warm and welcoming to come home to with the log burners roaring. It's rare to find such a large, spacious house to rent in such a prime location. The lounge was super comfy and I loved cooking in the new kitchen diner with the aga. The owner Justin was on hand to answer any queries we had and very accommodating. A great week and we hope to return in the summer to have a BBQ on the decking!
“Our Holiday house In Cornwall.”
We love this house. We have visited 4 times now with the same crew of 8 family and 2 dogs The position is fantastic just up the road from Watergate Bay, where the dogs can roam freely on the beach and the Cornish Weather can blow all your cares away. Then return home to a lovely cosy and warm house for a great brunch before braving the surf later in the day. The bedroom layouts are great for families and The Living room has loads of comfy sofas and still plenty of room for evening family fun. When ever friends ask where we are going on holiday we say " to our holiday house in Cornwall" The owner Justin is very welcoming and helps to get the best out of your holiday. Highly recommended.
“Getaway with everything”
Over 2 weeks had all familly stay with us including 2 dogs. Short walk to Beach which even in Spring holidays did not get over crowded. Active adults and grandkids all tried surfing (which I am told Watergate is perfect for. Great location for several days out, all in all great time.
“fantastic property, amazing garden, accommodating owner.. highly reccommended”
We had an amazing stay at watersend / pendowr house. The property is beautiful, clean & very spacious. There was everything we could possibly need for our very large family including large pots & pans, something which is often overlooked, but an absolute essential when trying to cater for 12 or more. The garden is wonderful & great fun for adventurous kids. Watergate bay is a fantastic beach a short walk away, the only downside for us was that with no pavement it was a slightly scary walk with young kids.. this was easily overcome by driving down & dropping off kids & beach paraphernalia then parking the car back at the house.. easy. We also found the owner Justin to be extremely helpful & easy to contact, and would like to thank him for posting back the many things we left behind!! All in all a great time was had by all.. happy days.
“A simply magical house situated in substantial, private grounds near Watergate Bay”
We stayed at Watersend during July 2010 with family and friends. The house itself is very large, well equipped, private, light and spacious with every room offering plenty of space to relax in comfort. Our bedroom overlooked the beautiful gardens with views to Watergate Bay beyond where we could check the conditions out to sea. The ample kitchen has an aga, large traditional breakfast table and all the cooking facilities that one would require to provide for the house. There is a large dining area and lounge both very capable of seating all guests in comfort. Outside of the house the gardens are extensive and magical. The views are spectacular, especially in the higher tier of the gardens where a trial takes you down around a leat with ponds and a fantastic variety of plantation. Away from the house we spent most of our time at Watergate Bay where we enjoyed the beach, food and drink provided in the surrounding cafes and bars. The surf was suitable most of the week for our girls to body board safely as well. We also enjoyed Blue Reef Aquarium, walking, mountain biking and shopping in Newquay. All in all we had an unforgettable week at Watersend House. The private grounds provide a unique environment where we were left undisturbed to relax and enjoy a very special Cornish retreat.
