Carbean is a working sheep property and has been in the one family for 120 years. Carbean is situated 16 km from the Cunningham Highway on a all weather dirt road in the Karara area some 75 km from Warwick,Queensland, the local service town. Carbean cottage Farmstay is an original farm cottage which was used for a school house and then workmen quarters. Recently renovated and refurbished presenting as a modern farmstay dwelling, it accommodates 5 persons comfortably.

Carbean is a very quiet property with little vehicle traffic, has a large dam to boat and fish, plenty of area to ride push bikes, use remote controlled hobbies, swim, bush walk, explore, bird watch, fossick for the yellow stuff, and generally relax in the peacefulness of nature.

Carbean Farm Stay is situated in the Homestead grounds and has a large garden and a Bar B Que area to share and a fire pit with wood supplied.

When lambing is on interaction with the young lambs and their mothers is available and when shearing is underway shearing can be viewed. A great place for a family to break from the busy world and relax with nature, Carbean cottage and its hosts welcomes you to our world.

Carbean also has a Camping Ground on a large dam where guests can unwind in the quiet of nature. Tents, Camper trailers and Caravans accommodated on unpowered sites with bush toilet and bush shower.

When staying with us at Carbean Farmstay your host will be available to show you around the old buildings and historical sites and the property shearing shed and can also give you a rundown of the property history. We can also prepare the open fire if necessary for your enjoyment and also cook your Bar B Que if you wish. We can provide ice for your drinks and if you need to pack a picnic lunch for your bush walking or bird watching or your painting excursion we can provide cold packs and drinking water.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Lyndon & Lyle (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
