With breathtaking views of Carlingford Lough and the Cooley Mountains, Havelock Cottage is located on the seafront of the picturesque seaside town of Warrenpoint, Co Down. Within walking distance from award winning restaurants and pubs. With Belfast just 45 minutes away and Dublin only 1 hour away, it is the ideal base for touring the border counties.It has easy access to the Mourne Mountains and a breathtaking costal drive to Newcastle, Co Down. Activities close by include Mountain Biking, Golf, Horse-riding, Go-Karting, Angling, watersports, hiking.

The layout of the cottage is:-

Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed

Bedroom 2 has 1 double and 1 single bed

Bedroom 3 has 2 double bed settees. This room also transforms into a second living room during the day if required!!

One family bathroom upstairs with a bath and overhead shower. Another shower room downstairs with toilet.

Downstairs living room with separate kitchen and dining area. Small utility area

Warrenpoint sits at the southern approach to the Mournes and at the point where the Clanrye River and Newry Canal open into Carlingford Lough.
All year round Warrenpoint offers well known nightclubs and restaurants providing excellent entertainment and a variety of foods to suit every taste and pocket. During the summer months an open-air amusement park is on offer in the main square or you can take a stroll down along the beach and seafront.
Just outside Warrenpoint is Narrow Water Castle, an excellent example of a tower-house and bawn built about 1568 at the strategic point point the Newry or Clanrye River meets Carlingford Lough.
Warrenpoint Park close to the centre of the town has a magnificent array of flowers and shrubs and the fine Edwardian bandstand is the focus for popular summer band concerts. Facilities include tennis courts and play area.

EVENTS AND FESTIVALS:-

The Blues on the Bay Festival takes place in Warrenpoint over the last bank holiday weekend in May. It attracts quality Blues & Jazz performances and includes 25 acts throughout the weekend in the selected bars. There are three main showcase gigs featuring top class international artists. Music workshops also feature throughout the weekend. This is an excellent weekend with a great mix of music to suit all tastes.

Kingdom of Mourne Festival
This is a two-week festival that happens somewhere between mid-July and mid-August. This festival improves local community relations and it is also a major attraction for holidaymakers. Events include sheep dog trials, street hockey, children's fancy dress, sand castle competitions, vintage vehicles, live open air & pub entertainment, tennis coaching, exhibitions and demonstrations, fishing competitions, fireworks display and much more which appeals to locals and visitors alike.

Fiddler's Green Festival
The square in RostrevorFiddler's Green Festival is a family-established annual celebration of Irish music and culture with an international flavour, which takes place in the scenic village of Rostrevor. The Festival includes the annual Hall of Fame award, presented to the person or group who has made a significant contribution to Irish music or culture. The nightly folk club features the best of Irish & International Folk performances.

Warrenpoint International "Maiden of the Mourne" Festival
This is a two-week festival that happens somewhere between mid-July and mid-August. This festival offers something for all the family, with a range of events including band concerts, outdoor entertainment, sporting events & top celebrity performances, parades, children's events and The Maiden of the Mourne Competition featuring entrants from across the world.

“Great Location”

Perfect location for holiday would stay here again very comfortable and restful in the evening. Great that we could go to the pub and not have to drive
