THE BOATHOUSE is a stylish detached one-bedroomed two-storey dwelling sitting in the grounds of Quayside on the banks of the magnificent River Deben at Waldringfield. This is one of two holiday cottages that sits in the grounds of Quayside - the other is QUAYSIDE COTTAGE (also see Quayside Cottage at Quayside on the River Deben).
We have our own quay, making it ideal for boating (rowing boat available) and fishing (in particular sea bass during the summer).
This is a tranquil and picturesque coastal village, with a keen sailing community and boatyard where river cruises operate May to September, Arts and Crafts Studio with resident artist providing art lessons on request, beachfront pub dining (breakfast, lunch, dinner), and an excellent 18-hole golf course.
There are three properties in the grounds of Quayside: two stylish detached holiday cottages and the main residence occupied by us, Ged and Donna Morgan and our son Stuart. Each property has its own parking area and bicycle storage within the grounds, with easy access via electric gate, and riverfront seating.
Both cottages are lovingly cared for and finished to a high standard (past winner of 'Best Self-Catering Holiday of the Year' voted by East of England Tourism).

“Beautiful accommodation in a peaceful setting”
We have just spent a lovely week here. Ideal location in a peaceful setting, right by the river with lovely views. Waldringfield is a lovely village with local walks, and the Maybush pub is a stone’s throw away. Great food, and even a 10% discount voucher for food and drinks courtesy of Donna and Ged....thank you! The property is beautifully presented, spotless and with everything you could need. The welcome wine and chocs were a nice touch....again, thanks. Highly recommended!

“5 Star accommodation, at an attractive price.”
This is a very well [presented and equipped cottage. It is in an idyllic location and the owners have given a great deal of thought into making a stay here as comfortable and friendly as possible. The welcome was superb and helpful, and the impression is given that nothing is too much trouble. There is an eye for detail and you really feel that the owners have troubled themselves to stand in the shoes of tenants and provide what they would like to have for a short break. I think this is the best presented cottage we have ever stayed in. We loved it....and hope to be back.

“Blown away by accomodation”
This is a stunning property with everything that we needed. Warm and friendly hosts and a lovely welcome with wine, chocolates and cakes. Booking was very easy and information was excellent. The location was beautiful and the walks along the river superb. The Maybush is a must! The food and service 10/10. We will be back.

“Location, Location, Location”
The Boathouse totally exceeded our expectations, it's even better than it looks on the website. Everything is quality, the bathroom and shower, the underfloor heating, the fully equipped kitchen, the large airy bedroom, (with veranda, perfect for breakfast and birdspotting!), all the little extras like tea and coffee, milk, wine, chocolates, cake and even olive oil provided to make your stay special. It's very stylish and beautifully designed to flow and feels very relaxing, it's a very quiet area on the river front. Perfect for walking and wildlife spotting, there are lots of quiet lanes for cycling and exploring, or just a great retreat to get away from it all. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, Donna is a talented artist her beautiful watercolours and photographs of the area adorn the walls. I'd highly recommend staying here.

“A place to relax”
a lovely place to relax and unwind from the stress of life, a beautiful view of the river at a peaceful place, the family that run the business are wonderful and helpful, and always a joy to visit with. a good location for food a drinking as the Maybush pub is just down the road. so no stress to do any cooking always nice to know you can walk for a good meal.

“A delightful holiday cottage”
Donna and Ged were very friendly and welcoming. The Boathouse is beautifully presented and immaculately clean. Unfortunately, the weather was not great, but we did have the opportunity to sit in the garden on the first day and enjoy the wonderful river views. Ged kindly took us out on his boat, so we were able to gain a different perspective of Waldringfield and the River Deben. We would certainly recommend this rental property and hope to return some time.

“A little piece of holiday heaven in an idyllic setting.”
Donna and Ged, the owners of this property could not have done more to make this holiday home more comfortable. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt we had come to our home from home (and I am VERY fussy as my husband knows only too well!) everything has been thought of from the warm welcome to the shoe cleaning kit in the wardrobe. On arrival we were delighted to find the little 'extras' - wine, chocolates and a delicious lemon drizzle cake! There was milk in the fridge and tea bags - you can't help but feel you belong, even if it's only temporarily. It doesn't feel temporary and very soon you pad around the place as if you own it! We will return and quite honestly can't wait!

We had a wonderful week staying in The Boathouse which is fully equipped with everything you will ever need on holiday. Donna and Ged made us feel like old friends and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The location is stunning and accommodation first class. I cannot fault anything. Our stay was perfect.

“Wonderful self catering accommodation.”
Just returned from a short break at The Boathouse. This has got to be the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in.After a very warm welcome from Donna we settled into the Boathouse which is very well equipt with everything you could want and a welcome pack of milk,wines,chocolates, cake and lots of useful information on the surrounding area. Very peaceful location by the river and we felt really at home for a few days. Would highly recommend to anyone and we chose The Boathouse after reading the great reviews. If you book you will not be disappointed.

- How do damage deposits work?
In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Donna (the owner) a message.
If Donna (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
